View Full Version : The new Celebrity Big Brother house - Wow!
Now I know that a lot of people would rather gouge their eyes out with blunt rusty spoons than watch Big Brother but I have to say that the house layout they're using for the next (and last) series of Celebrity Big Brother does look rather good.
Take a look here (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8434141.stm). I'm not so sure about the kitchen but the rest of the house looks fantastic. I'd live there!
Looks very good, but that lounge is rather oppressing in such dark colours.

A shame that Boy George has been prohibited from taking part. While he's acted like a bit of a muppet of late, he is an interesting character who would've brought a broad range of opinions to the programme.
I love the bathroom and I am sure thats the same cooker as my parents, its a bugger to use the door to oven opens down and is massive!!!

That place is gorgeous!
I think the kitchen is rather fitting too, It's Hells Kitchen...
Love it :D Esp the bath and the kitchen :D
Looks like I'm the only one who finds it garish then :D

Nope, I think it's pretty hideous and headache inducing.
I doubt it will be the last you know, it'll end up on FIVE or sky. It's just the last on C4, so end of an era. I think the house suits the people who will inevitably end up on it. Sluts and jailbirds I suspect.

Bit of a sweeping generalisation there, don't you think?
yup! Bet I'm not wrong either :D (purely the 'celebrity' one I'm referring to!)

Include the gays, lesbians, bisexuals-who-aren't-really-and-are-just-saying-it-to-be-cool, lunatics and annoying knobbers and that about covers the whole BB cast.

I think that the celeb reality shows in general tend to attract celebs/ex-celebs with either waning or completely dead careers.....who are looking to re-ignite their profiles again. Obviously there are exceptions to this rule where people like Katie Price go on the show for different reasons.
However, I'll throw an example at you and you can tell me where he fits into the sluts/jailbirds catagory.
Dirk Benedict.
Didn't have a book/movie/album to promote.
Came across as a really nice guy.
Nothing to gain from the show, other than the fee of course.

Sadly, you're right.
For the last 7 or 8 years the show has been dominated by people from the above groups. BUT, "normals" do slip through from time to time and this is my point. When people imply that they're all jelly heads they're showing how blinkered they are.....especially as these are the same people who proudly proclaim that they never watch it. That reminds me, I must pop down to the library and comment on all of their books based on what their covers look like.
At least you (and rightly so) slipped in the words "that about".
Did you note the 'I suspect' at the end of my sentence? Therefore distinguishing it from fact - or do you prefer to ignore that bit?

Sweeping generalisation much?
Oh and Dirk Benedict spoke quite a bit about the books he wrote and then having raised his profile brought another one out later that year. Would he have had interest had his profile not been raised? Who knows!

After that you said you "bet you're not wrong", changing the implication of the sentence from a declared assumption to a statement ;)
no, I'm still saying ' I bet'. Doesn't make it fact. I could be a complete loon for all you know, I could bet that black was white if I so wished - so 'I bet I'm right' doesn't really mean anything in that context. (oh and in speech marks, use 'I'm' not 'you're' or I don't think you need the quotations) :)

The jury is still out on that one :p

If we're going down the grammar route, you might want to start a post with a capital letter :D

You see my point though?
The celeb version differs from the public version as the celebs either still have, or have had in the past, varying degrees of fame. The public contestants are looking for fame (or their perception of what fame will be like) but on both versions of the show you do get regular people who obviously thought "why not?" and promptly applied.

done :D
I'd slap you, if I wasn't so sure you'd kinda like it, lol.
Besides, it's also not true. You're more than ok in my book. I've read your stuff on here and you come across as a pretty well adjusted individual. I might go into "dog with a bone" mode from time to time in a discussion, but don't think I consider it all to be anything more than a difference of opinions on the webernet.
It's never personal

Mock baroque. How 2008 :(

I like it - but would prefer it in a building of the correct period. The kitchen however... :)
Only animal skulls? Shame - stick a human skull or 2 in there to really freak them out. :D
Works in my playroom - people really can't stand being in there for long. :D

You must've missed the edit, which originally had "compared to the others in here" at the end. ;-)
