Pre: Touch broken

My brother has been on to say he got his new Pre today (idiot got it from ebay) and this afternoon the touch has stopped working. He can still receive and answer calls but can't do anything requiring the touch screen.

O2 said that there is a fix on their website (i couldn't find it) and he said he's done this to no avail. Does anybody know of a fix or is he going to have to just return it?

Does it work if he plugs it into a usb port?

currently getting him to download the webosdoctor

hopefully that can do a repair of some sort. He's also emailed the ebay seller, but I expect it'll need an O2 return.

sucks though - he's not had one for ages after O2 wouldn't replace it under their insurance (water damage) and yet the monthly charge never went away. Finally a new one rolls up and it breaks already!

okay, just got off the phone.

yeah it was brand new, sealed, but as I say, bought off ebay.

He's got it now so that the screen works when plugged in. So i've told him how to get into devmode so that the webosdoctor will work.
