View Full Version : Virgin
Don't suppose anyone knows any offers on with Virgin Media at the moment?
Other than the £65 Quidco cash back.
£100 or £60 cashback with TopCashBack (depending on what you are signing up for).

Just checked and QuidCo report the same amounts as TopCashBack.
If I introduced you as a friend, I could get £20 :D

Would that work with quidco?
Also anyone know the lead time for installation?
And can you have more than one v+ box?
or can you watch the recorded stuff in a different room, like with sky and magic eye, or can you control it through a 2nd normal v box.

They charge you between 5 and 10 quid extra for every other v+ box you have. I had one put in my room when I moved back into my parents and they said this would happen.....but I managed to wangle an extra 5 quid off one of the packages, so it didn't in effect go up. Just warning you they may try it.
My box was put in in just over a week, but then it was already wired into the house, and there was a cable in the room already, it was just a case of plugging it in. Is it in the house already?
Not sure about watching stuff on other boxes, not as far as I am aware, there are 2 v+ boxes in this house now (as well as 2 ordinary ones) and I havent ever watched something I have recorded on my box elsewhere. Maybe you need special equipment to do it.

Think its 5 a month for a standard box and 10 for V+
The V+ boxs record to the hard drive *in* the box so it can only be watched on the box it was recorded. The V+ boxes are just PVR machines they dont placecast or anything etc... :)

Mostly they both use the same networks so both offer the same cashback.
Would that work with quidco?
Er, no, so quidco it. Don't forget that any deal you have to phone up to get (which if you have good haggling skills may well be better) don't qualify either.

Nothing similar to magic eye for sky?
How much will a 2nd box be?

Paid 40 quid for the one in my room. They wanted to charge 60 but I wangled some discount again.

No, and tbh magic eye should be a last resort even for Sky. I get a crap picture from mine.
I keep thinking about switching sides but my latest excuse for not doing so is that I want Virgin to stop sending me junk mail first (I only have junk mail issues with two companies, and they're one of them).

That's odd mine works fine. Obviously it doesn't do HD stuff though.
