Just got home.

Our little Piggy was bloody brilliant :) She looks fantastic up there and had a stunning stage presence.
I took lots of photos, including a load of the others in her class. Will sort out uploading them over the next couple of days. Mic videoed her T-walk so will get that up too.

Really enjoyed the whole day and all the different classes, and found myself able to pick at least 2 out of the top 4 each time (except Sineads class - I was slightly biased in that one ;) )

So jealous of all the women who competed; they all looked amazing - I want muscles :p

Was a great day out! Really enjoyed it and was really proud of you Sinead! :D Was obvious you really enjoyed it out there!

Soooo many nervous people on the stage - don't blame them as I would be if I was parading virtually nekkid in front of peeps!

Also some very bad tans and some pilsbury dough boys .... gross!! :p

Well that was fun :D

They only placed top four out of a class of 16 so at the moment I don't know where I placed but I should be able to find out in a few days.

I really enjoyed the whole experience... I was a bit nervous during the pre-judging but by the time it came to my t walk I was just ready to get out there and rock it !

Thank you so much to the people who came to support me today and everyone on here has been keeping me going !

Can't wait to see all the piccies ! Mei you can unleash the vid to the masses!

Will have a couple of weeks off now and then start work for next year because by god I am doing this again ;D

I've already had feedback from one judge - my symmetry was up on top but I lost placings due to lack of ab/leg seperation.

So I need to get a little more muscle up top, work on my abs to get them bigger and then get a little leaner to get more definition.

To get where I've got in just a year is good going so with a decent offseason to concentrate on the muscle and not worry about chipping away at the fat I will get closer to where I need to be :)

It's not the most interesting of days if it's not your thing but it seems like most of you enjoyed it enough to make a half decent day of it.

I really enjoyed it - I wasn't sure that I would like the blokes categories but I had lots of fun esp with both yourself and Will at guessing the placings.

You said they had "best overall" type awards - did the over 50s winner get best thighs (if that was an award) in the end? :p

It is much more fun when you're cheering for someone specific, although I think I could hire myself out as "crowd encouragement" - Tak's Rent-a-Cheer :D

Diet is 90% of the battle. You have proven how good a tool it is getting it right. :)

It soon stops being dedication, and just a way of life. Sounds very "zen" or wishy washy, but it really does work that way. :)

So the offseason hath begun !

After a nice rest from the gym and the diet I am back on the wagon.

Offseason is about building more muscle before you start to strip the fat again, some fat gain is inevitable but by keeping the cardio up ( 4 to 5 45 mins walkies per week ) and keeping the diet fairly strict I can keep this to a minimum.

Diet is pretty much the same as pre-comp but with more carbs (yay!) and I can have as many cheat meals as I like, but because I want to keep the fat levels in check I'll be scheduling 2 a week... if I fancy more or there's a social occasion then it doesn't matter :)

Can also have a few little treats during the day but again need to keep a lid on these to keep the fat levels in check.

The leaner I can stay the happier I'll be and will make the prep easier next year.

I'm hoping to do 3 shows next year, 1 MuscleTalk show which is with the UKBFF, this is a different federation which isn't tested ( means most people will be using some sort of steriod or fatburner )

I didn't want to compete with them last year as I wouldn't be competitive against their figure girls who have more muscle and come in leaner than the BNBF girls. However the federation have brought out a Bikini Class which will probably suit my figure more - this will be in early June.

I also want to do the BNBF Southern in Bognor Regis which will be late June and then the BNBF Central again.

Seems a shame to work so hard and just do the 1 show but for my first time I really needed to focus.

So since the competition I have put on a stone - this is totally normal, most people gain more than this !

Been feeling a little out of shape but had my first proper week back on the wagon - my body now reacts to the changes in diet/exercise so quickly I've tightened up already !

So I've got a little bit of ab outline which has come back and also some cuts in the delts ( shoulders ) and triceps ( arms )

The progress offseason is slow and steady as you don't see the progress as well but off I go ! :D

Soooo 5 weeks time and I get to start prepping again ;D ... Prep starts on the 13th of March and doing a full 16 week diet

This year's attack will be sightly different as last season I was still trying to build a little muscle whilst losing the fat. This season I will be able to concentrate on burning the fat whilst maintaining the muscle I have built in the off season so I should get a lot leaner than last season ... we'll see :D

Doing 2 shows this year, BNBF Welsh in Newport on the 3rd of July ( Mum and Dad are coming to see yay !) and the BNBF Centrals in St Albans again on the 31st July.

I weighed 7st 5 when I competed and I'm nearly 9 stone now .. comparing myself to when I first started this last season when I weighed just under 8 stone.... I think I've put on a good 7/8lbs in muscle... lets hope I get enough fat off to show it ;)

It's been quite hard accepting the additional fat gain that comes with bulking, although it's been kept to a minimum it's still hard seeing the condition go but hey... this is the BUILDING part of bodybuilding.

Fat burning tips piggy? I need some right now as my motivation is dropping everytime I go home/look at old comp photos.

Being fair and a bit big headed, I was a tank. 12st7lbs & 5% BF. Jumping over Ford Fiestas.

I'm now 12st10lbs & BF % is up at 17.

My main meals vary every day to keep variety going but breakfast, snack & lunch are pretty set.

50g Cereal & 2 x Brown Toast with low fat spread
Apple or two/a LOT of grapes
Ham & low fat cheese sandwich/
Main meals include chicken tomato & herb pasta bake, chicken & pasta with tomato & chilli sauce, lean beef meatballs with arabiatta & tagliatelli, chilli con carne with basmati rice. Steak & steamed veg once in a while & the very occasional Mexican food(fajitas/burritos/quesadillas).

Training just now is gym based.

5 minutes on treadmill @ 10mph
Ab machine, 3x10reps @ 80kg
Tricep curl, 3x10reps @ 50kg
200m sprint row @ max resistance(usually about 33-35 seconds)

For cardio I developed a pacing run. 3mins at 8mph, 1min at 15mph, 3mins at 7mph, 1min at 17.5mph, 3min walk at 6mph, 1min at max pace(20mph).

Leg press, 3x8reps @ 300kg
Squats, 3x8reps @ 120kg

I used to do a helluva lot more but just getting back into it so I can start properly track training again.

Any tips would be awesome. I wanna be a beast again.

Food looks healthy enough but a lot of carbs... carbs aren't the enemy but we don't want an excess :D

Be wary of any ready made sauces, full of sugars... wherever possible make your own. I make all my own sauces now and always use fresh plum toms instead of tinned... you have to be inventive with food when prepping ;)

What cereal do you tend to have and what milk do you have ?

What are you drinking throughout the day ?

Do you have a rough idea of weights ? For your pasta & bread do you have white or wholemeal ? Wholemeal is far better

How often are you training ? And how often are you doing cardio ?

For example my current routine is below, baring in mind I'm still doing a lean bulk

45 mins cardio AM after a black coffee 5 times a week
10 mins cardio after I do my weight training

2x sprint sessions weekly

For my 45 mins and 10 mins cardio I just power walk with ankle weights on

Weight training is 3 times weekly... my routine changes every 8 weeks.

I can see you're training legs and tris but do you want to train the rest of your body as well and if so how many days can you train ?

Wow, I thought I knew what I was doing!

Ready made sauces are a cheat meal for me, usually make them myself but not fresh toms, chopped cartoned normally with fresh herbs.

I try to have bran flakes with raisins & half fat milk but sometimes my housemates eat all the raisins & drink all the milk so I have to make do. Ricicles/Lucky Charms with purple milk happens about twice a week.

If I'm at uni for a long time I use a sports drink. If not, water & squash. Maybe a ginger beer or two at the weekend. Fizzy drinks are a bit of a vice.

Always wholemeal pasta & bread. About 150g of chicken & maybe 100g pasta. Never weigh it just go with what looks right. I've been eating lots of meals in big portions since I was about 14, having small meals makes me feel faint.

Train about 4 times a week. Could do every day but my washing would pile up & the effect would be a bit painful. I've done daily stuff before & its not pretty.

I'm heading to Prague in about 20mins until monday so I'll get more detailed when I get back. Defiinitely appreciate the input, I'll be using it as much as I can.

Interesting, my target weight is 2x Cut Piggymons but I now weigh less than 2x Bulking Piggymons.

I think we've talked about using the Piggymon as a unit of measurement before?

I don't even measure my BF% anymore and try to just use the mirror :D

I like the blonde! It's still not quite there yet and still has a coppery hue to it as red is the worst colour to try and strip. I used to be blonde many years ago and quite liked it. It's nice for a change :)

Had my cheat meal last night, oh my word it was NOM!

Have a new bikini to wear to one of the shows this year. One of the ladies from the BNBF club is hiring hers out for £10 so I grabbed a nice brown one with amber and gold sparklies ! ... Now I have a dilema as I don't know which show to wear which bikini to ;D

Joined a gym last week, DW one in town, been 4 times so far and feel myself getting stronger, just getting into a routine before I start serious dedication.

Cycled 100 miles since begging of March and given up sweets/chocolate/crisp/cake/buscuits for lent.

So things have just got serious ! ;)

Saw my prep dude yesterday ( yes, on a Sunday ! ) and he was very pleased with my upper body and calves but has concerns over my bum and thighs, holding too much fat at this stage of the prep

So! We're now carb cycling... no that's not getting a loaf of bread on your bike, oh how I wish!

Basically I spend Mon-Wed as I am now but slightly lower carbs, Thurs a bit lower again, Fri & Sat are pretty much no carbs, Sunday I have a few more carbs and then my cheat meal that evening

Going to be hard work but I'm going to dig in and get this fat shifted

Will post my diet if anyone is interested :)

10.30am 125g cottage cheese / quark Raw carrot / celery / cucumber sticks
Drink water

Lunch 12.30pm 80g lean minced beef
Loads of veg – vary it
40g kidney beans
20g (dry weight) brown basmati rice
Drink water

3.00pm 1 oatcake
125g quark + ½ tsp Whey2O + 2 strawberries + 4 grapes
Raw carrot / celery / cucumber sticks

30 mins pre-workout 50g oily fish
1 oatcake
Mug black coffee

Immediately post workout 30g whey protein isolate + 15g maltodextrin in water

Evening Meal 45 mins later 100g chicken breast / white fish / lean red meat / omelette (1 yolk + 4 whites)

For a few weeks last year I carb cycled like a mother****er - it was the hardest thing I ever did. Never again! Though the results speak for themselves really. It works. It's hard work though - it was just the lack of energy that I hated - but actually once the ketones are released things get back on track fairly quickly (it's just getting to that point!).

I did restricted carbs for 2 months before jingly - the first 2 weeks where hell but I lost a stone over that 2 months. My max was 25g a day. I really want to get back to that diet but due to my schedule being all over the place with driving lessons it seems my motivation and determination have gone out the window :confused:

Oh it definitely works well, and it's hard. I couldn't do it though - I dropped so much body fat (I won't bother posting pics in your thread) but it paid off... if I had the discipline to keep it up... I would - but I just like stuffing my face too much! :D

You need to work out your BMR and RMR - then you have to honestly measure your level of activity to multiply that to your RMR to get your basic calorie requirements. Personally I use the Harris Benedict calculation for it.

Remember though it's only a rough idea - it's never going to be 100% accurate.

Absolutely no idea ! I have a nutritionist who does my diet ( James, he was at our wedding with his partner Hazel but had to dash off ) He doesn't calorie count at all

Bum is still too big for where it needs to be this far out ( 9 weeks ) but I have made good progress in the last 5 weeks and as long as it keeps up like this... it'll be ok !

Everything's a lot tighter, definitely less subcutaneous layer there for sure. Improved definition, and taper around the waist. Fantastic work.

Not overly worried, 1/2 a pound is nothing and I have stuck to everything 100% as I have every other week so no reason to think something is up

My weight does seem to drop fortnightly so will see what happens next weekend before having a stop ;)

Not a hell of a lot of fat on my tummy now so instead of poking out, it's gone square ;D

1.5lbs down this week, finally under 8stone !

Saw my prep dude and trainer yesterday and both were pleased with my progress and have no doubts that if I carry on I will come in ok for the Welsh :D

No change to diet but a little time added onto to cardio so now doing 60 mins AM 6 times a week and 30 mins after weights sessions which is 4 times a week

Cheat meal day today, having a BBQ .. NOM !!

Spoke to James ( diet dude ) today and I have my plans from Friday - Monday

The ketchup is back HURAAAAH !! Really excited about that :D

Will leave me looking like a bloated moonface until I start to cut the water but dammit it tastes nice ;D

Interesting fact - I'm currently 5lbs heavier than what I competed at last year and I'm already leaner - has been a productive offseason me thinks :)

Never been there before, but from what I saw on their site, there is a big multi-storey near the venue and other parking available. Nothing directly at the venue though.

We'll probably be there from 11.30-12.00 I would imagine.

Showed my T Walk to a good friend ( Flick ) who's a complete perfectionist on routines etc and she was really pleased with it so that's filled me with some confidence.. NO OCTOPUS ARMS THIS YEAR !! ;D

Took some piccies yesterday to send to my coach and he was pleased

Will be travelling down today and starting the tanning process tonight - can't believe it's finally here .. YAY !

So, I didn't get a trophy.. they only placed the top 3 and I wasn't one of them

Tan went v blotchy which didn't help me at all, but I posed very well in pre judge and then did a really good t walk !

I spoke to the judges afterwards to find out my placing and I was 5th out of 7...

Feedback was that I was improved from last year, posing much better just still carrying too much fat which I knew was the case

Roll on 4 weeks time where I get to do it all again ! :D

On a side note Piggy my daughter works in a tanning salon to supplement her income why she is at Uni, Would you like me to speak to her maybe sort some proper tanning out or at least find an oil/lotion you can use yourself with better results.
