Here's a working link for the benefit of anyone who clicked Tyson's link and got an annoying American person talking about web hosting...

A friend has the 7D (bought it at launch for £1600 - ouch!) and it's a very nice bit of kit indeed.

As it's looking increasingly unlikely there'll be a 60D at all, as the gap twixt the 550D and 7D is now too narrow, my only real upgrade path from the 40D is the 7D but I won't be doing that until it falls to under £900, which could be a while :(

The 15-85 kit lens for the 7D is also a very nice bit of kit indeed, should anyone be so inclined. I've got one to play with for a few weeks (no, I'm not keeping it) and it certainly seems well built. Already noticing the difference at the wide end in particular.

FYI - The 15-85 kit lens option for the 7D is also a stonking piece of kit. Got to send The one I borrowed back tomorrow but it's on the wish list for sure.
