Not that it matters one jot but it probably has a lot to do with where he comes from and the stigma still attached to it.

I guess he's a smart guy who picked his partners well. All the more difficult, considering his fame. Hats off to the fella.

Desmo is right, it's slightly remarkable that this hadn't been confirmed before now although it's always seemed pretty obvious that Mr Martin was gay. I've always found it amazing that some people were shocked when George Michael came out, I can't quite believe it was ever in question but maybe that's with the benefit of hindsight.

I find it incredible that, in 2010, the fact that a celebrity prefers to play hide the sausage with someone of the same gender is considered newsworthy and "shocking" enough to merit discussion.

Coming from the other angle, I lose a lot of respect for him for keeping it quiet as it "may damage his career". He chose his carrer over openly being gay.

Two thoughts from me. Firstly, who cares? Secondly, was quite obvious.

Reminds me of the time my fit German A-Level teacher told me that her husband thought Will Young was gay, in the days before he'd made it public. Couldn't really tell her what I wanted to about her husband. ;)He chose his carrer over openly being gay.Is that his Porsche Carrer? :D

I knew Will Young was gay from the moment I saw him, I think most people did. Does Ricky have a book to promote or something, deciding that rather than damage what career he has left, the publicity he'll get now will ensure him a trip around the USA's chat show sofas, wheras the once chart-topping superstar might not get so much interest?

As for Keanu, his girlfriend died in a horrific car accident, just after they had a stillborn baby, so I think the fact that he's single is down to terribly sad circumstances, rather than any hiding of a gay lifestyle.

Don't really care to be honest. The person I'm waiting to come out is Seth McFarlene (Family Guy).

It would have been bigger news if he announced he was straight.

From the few photos I've seen from him that's probably true.
