Congratulations to you both :)

Have you decided when yet or is it one of those, engaged for now and decide later, sort of arrangements?

Congrats indeed!

I for one, have never understood why the female would want to talk about it beforehand, I would want the big surprise :D

Short sharp shock is in order. Venue booked, 25th May. This year

Queue the mission impossible theme tune!

Going to be a very small do, family only - funds and organisation time are the limiters :( But got to be that week really as my Brother is over for the first time in 3 years and not much prospect of another visit for about the same length of time. Probably no honeymoon until october time either...

Good luck with that, it's funny though as from what I can tell marriage planning seems rather like a gas - it'll expand to fill all available space but if you have to compress it you can do, you've just got to make sure you're focused and use your time wisely.

I for one, have never understood why the female would want to talk about it beforehand, I would want the big surprise :D

I popped the question without any discussion beforehand, that startled look on Kari's face is one I'll treasure.

The ring, on the other hand, I'm glad I waited until after and went shopping with her to get. Her tastes are so particular I had no hope of getting the right one (and turns out what she chose / designed that she adores is totally different from what she originally thought she wanted.)

Kari routinely pops into the jewelry store where we purchased her ring (nice folk, lovely store, and she loves to look at the 'bling'). She was in this weekend picking up some repaired jewelry and noticed a beautiful 1.5ct diamond ring. It was custom made, the guy proposed with ring in box... and she said no. They're now trying to sell it for him rather than buy it off him as it's better for his pocket. $33,000.

That was an expensive mistake...
