Just looking for a few opinions on the following Mondeo (dull but practical :p)

Clicky (http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/uvl/popup.jsp?currentaction=searchresults&e2w=20672&sort=5&did=47599&partner=TMG&postcode=DN5%208QE&make=FORD&max_records=200&dropdowntype=uvl&configfile=http://dealerservices.autotrader.co.uk/dealers/47599/47599_config.xml&searchsrc=msl&miles=1500&modelexact=1&lid=search_used__full&model=MONDEO&source=2&csslocation=http://dealerservices.autotrader.co.uk/dealers/47599/47599&id=201015356928231&distance=196)

Thoughts/comments?

(not my ideal colour either btw :p)

Hmmm, Zetec's are pretty poor specs tbh. I would go for a Ghia X or Titanium for the goodies/toys. What is your budget?

There are loads of them around 4-5k

Think carefully before you go for a Ghia-X, as I found out to my expense the 17" alloys result in expensive tyres, £125/corner IIRC instead of £70-80 on the 16"s. Sounds a bit daft but if you are doing lots of miles it starts to cost and if you're not think about the 2.0 petrol as you'll get a newer/lower mileage example for your money.

How about this one?

Linky (http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/cars_popup.jsp?did=155222&pageid=1&originalid=&gid=&tid=203&modelexact=1&make=FORD&model=ANY&start=3&distance=0&adcategory=cars&channel=DEALERPAGE&id=201017357899216)

Was 3995 last time I looked (yesterday) so if it has a decent service history I'm certainly interested.....

What's terrifying is that I have pretty much the same car but with a V6 and a few bodywork dings and it's basically worth £1200

yep, unfortunately big engined mainstream cars collpase in value as they get older, people in the market for £2k cars don't want V6 running costs :(

Hmm, I don't quite see how the interior mings when the interior is leather and top of the range, but each to their own.

If you want people to help you find a car then maybe you should be a bit more specific of details.

Honestly I can't think of much worse than having to drive summit like a Mondy about. I hate lardy 4 door saloons why not get summit a bit different or at least good looking. 2 Grand could get you summit nice in my opinion & the way they make cars these days it wouldn't have to be juicy or un reliable.

Just had a think & reckon 2 grands worth of MX5 is what you need just in time for Summer.
Anyone you can't fit in can take the Bus. :p

It's not the seats as such but the dashboard. Change of materials with the 2003 model year which are much nicer :)

I don't need a car of that size but it would be very useful especially for the trips I do to LANs etc. Been driving about in a Golf for 2.5 years but it's costing me too much :(

An MX-5 would be nice but not what I'm after right now :p

I didn't mean to come over so negative but Honestly driving a Lardy motor about is Terrible on the Soul.
Get a Derv Fabia & re map it, I know that sounds Mental but 60+mpg & loads of Torques are fun fun fun in a little motor.

Had my fun with the Golf already (1.4 TSI, 170bhp :D) so after something a little more sedate and cheaper on the insurance :)

As I said earlier I'm trying to get my finances all sorted so cheap, practical car for now. MX5 next time :p
