Is it wrong I can still remember nearly all the words, and I was doing the clap clap bit in my head
"The apples are ripe"
CLAP CLAP
"The plums are red"
CLAP CLAP
"The broad beans are sleeping in a blankety bed!"

Hahaha yeeeessss!!! Oh my god! I was trying to sing this to James & my sister the other day and they thought I was crazy (an easy mistake to make)!
I did too. Remember one of our teachers re-writing the words to it so that we could sing to a leaving dinner lady who'd served the school for something like 25 years.
Can't remember most of it (over 20 years ago now) but I do remember for the chorus:
Forget Clement Freud, you can keep all the rest, Our Mrs Freeman really is the best.
I'm so old :( my kids learnt this when they started school, I thought it was a charming modern song :(
Without listening to the clip is this (here goes not heard this since I was 11)
Cauliflowers fluffy, and cabbages green
Strawberries sweeter than any I've seen
Beetroot purple and onions white
All grow steadily day and night
The apples are ripe
The plums are red
Broad beans are sleeping in a blankety bed
We used to sing it every Friday in junior school.
