Chopped tomatoes are buy 1 get 3 free. But they deduct the price of 2 cartons from your one, meaning they pay YOU 56p per carton, bought a tray before and "over scanned" them multiple times through the self check out and managed to get a £20 shop for free :o Which might be a little bit naughty, but i don't care too much none the less :p Think they've fixed it now though, but worth a check just in case!
:D Is awesome when it happens.
I'm not sure if they still do, but with reduced items they used to apply the full-price discount - there were a load of chicken goujons on 'buy 2 for £3' and were £2.50 each full price but 20p on reduced - so every two gave you £1.60 off your bill. p
Needless to say, ended up with a dozen packs of chicken goujons and a 'free' 24-pack of beer :D

I got lucky in Sainsburys doing this once. Shame they cottoned on to the trick :(

When my mate worked at Safeway and had a discount card, we used a load of vouchers. Got about £50 of drink and a packet of chewing gum... had to buy the gym so the total wasn't a minus amount ;D

How did you manage to scan it more times than you had items as the self serve checkouts ive used won't let you scan the next item in if it thinks you haven't placed the previous one into the bagging area?

Put about 10 in, and filled the tray, and then it gave me an option to remove bag. So i pressed it, and removed the tomatoes back to the other side ;D Not really sure how i found that option but it just appeared...

I've never seen that option - I just wait for the scan lights to go green and then yank the bag off the scales. As long as you wait for the green light and it's a decisive move, it seems to work.

Yeah i think that's what i did, took them off the scale when everything had settled and then it said remove bag or something or other, i really don't know exactly i was too busy trying to be sneaky with a crate of chopped tomatoes...
