Chome really slow to 'resolve the host'

It doesn't seem to happen on all sites but I've noticed Chrome is really slow to resolve the host sometimes.

And only recently which is more odd.

Most importantly is the site I admin; http://www.shuwarriors.net/forum/

Takes ages, and I also had an issue actually posting a minute ago.

How can I resolve this issue, and how quick is that site for you guys?

I couldn't have put it better myself.

Chrome does the same on my Macbook Pro but that's just one of the reasons I uninstalled it within 10 minutes.

lol. I'm a massive fan of it :o

I've come to assume the problem is from applications which have broken when i changed domain - some digging around highlighted a facebook connect javascript file that was broken. Hopefully when their side picks up my changed domain settings it'll fix it :/

Absolutely fine for me. Seems to render noticeably faster than Safari as well though I may be imaging things.

Chrome works. For every Mac user I've heard complaining about Chrome I've come across 3 or 4 who love it, and find it works significantly faster than Safari.

Instead of spouting opinion, why not try and actually help him out a bit? Maybe? Otherwise we might as well turn this into a Mac vs PC or some other such "My way or the highway" thing because it's basically coming down to the same thing. Some people prefer this browser because it does that, others prefer that browser because it does this. People are different.


Joe 90: http://code.google.com/p/namebench/ Give that a shot, see what it comes up with. It should be able to help advise if your ISPs DNS servers are being slow (most likely cause).

If so you might see some benefit with switching to Google's public ones. The namebench tool should come up with a few suggestions of public DNS servers if I remember correctly.

If you're being really geeky you might be able to get dnsmasq running on your Mac and do resolution yourself ;D (I do at work on my workstation): found some instructions here http://dnsmasq.darwinports.com/
