So last weekend there was a concerted decision between me and Mrs Dym regarding one of our favourite things....
Since then I have been irritable, distracted, confused (doesn't take much!) and finally pretty pleased with myself...

That's right, my new iPhone is documenting how well I am doing with my new task of not being a smoker :D
It's been a difficult week but I am now completely on top of this new situation!
The fact that I have bribed myself (quite expertly, I thought) with an iPhone 4 to not be a smoker was an act of pure genius (it's pretty, fun, and occupies my hands...) :p
Well done :) Hope it continues to go well!
Well there you are. Will have to remember that particular tactic for the future (not for me because I don't), but for others. ;D
Well done on the first week, and may weeks become months and months become years. :)
Excellent news :)
Maybe now that you can taste it properly maybe you'll realise your steak needs to be cooked slightly longer :p
Good on you Dym. :) Good luck and keep it up - well done. :)

Steak should moo!!! :p
Congrats on the quitting.

It's not blood, it's myoglobin.
Dym I am so so so proud of you right now seriously well done :D 1st week is the hardest and you've done so well!
Keep up the awesome work!!
I gave up twice cos I am an idiot (faysh shhh) and I don't miss it at all, it makes me feel sick if someone is smoking and I feel sick just thinking of how much I must have stunk :( yuk!
Being able to taste, smell and feeling great is awesome!

Nice one!
Good on you Dym :)
If you don't manage to give up, does the iPhone get returned? :p ;)

There is so much wrong with this statement I don't even know where to start!
Good on you Dym :)

Y'see, there's no way the iPhone is going back, so there's no way I can allow myself to fail!
:D
Nice going Dym, keep it up :)
Well done Dym! A good decision and glad to hear you sounding so determined to stick with it. As they say you have to really want ot give up and you've clearly got the resolve for it - good on you :)
Well done sir... you'll have almost paid off the iphone when your a year smoke free!
This first week is probably the hardest bit, here's for it getting easier from here!
Well done fella :)
Nice one :D So have I read it right and Mrs Dym quit too? Did she get an iWhatsit and how's she getting on? :)
Well done Mr - keep it up!

That's correct, Mrs Dym has also packed in the cancer sticks.
She hasn't bribed herself with a new iPhone though and is relying on willpower alone (shiny goodness helps lots, though! :D). She's doing just as well though, despite only having an iPhone 3G still :p

Missed this the first time round - brilliant keep up the good work Dym! :)

Good going man, nothing more i can say than keep it up and enjoy your iphone :)
Wooo yeah! That's a nice amount to save in a month too. 1,841.04 saved a year at that rate :) (that's less than the cost of a return trip for two to Hawaii, for the record ;))

New iPhone paid for through not smoking \o/

I really do need to join this bandwagon of yours. I've been smoking entirely too long now. Just need to convince Tina to quit as well.
Keep up the good work. You're an inspiration to those (like me) that haven't gathered the balls to try it ourselves.
Iphones cost more than £180 unless I am missing something
Smoking is crap, never done it bar 1 or 2 cigs, tis awful waking up after having just one let alone 10 a day

S'what it cost me on contract...
It's only the sim-free handsets which cost £499/£599 :)

And one year on I'm still not smoking (haven't even had one slip-up!), still loving my iPhone 4, but no longer saving money as it all gets spent on Little Miss Dym :p

Well done! Amazing just how much you can spend on cigarettes and it is literally money up in smoke.
Congratulations, that's fantastic :)

Can't believe it's been a year since you posted this thread originally! Fantastic work Mr Bond! Most impressed, and thrilled you've been able to quit. :) Well done mate.
Very well done there Mr. Bond!
iPhone bribery obviously works! :)
