View Full Version : What are you planning to cook this weekend?
I thought I was going to lay on a thread with a load of good ideas but it appears I've drawn a blank :o
I need to bake some bread this weekend because I haven't done any for a few weeks and I'm craving it now. I have a 4-week old brie to use up as well which I'm actually out of ideas for. It is literally about to climb out the fridge by itself it's that ripe :D
I think it's going to have to be a cool food weekend, so maybe some fruit salads, Pimms and lemonade. Quite fancy someting with Thai spices, so maybe some Thai sticky white rice, green curry seasoned chicken skewers and crunchy stir fried vegetables.
I discovered a cherry tree in the carpark, laden with fruit and I can't believe I've been living here 5 years and never noticed it. I'm going to Heath Robinson up some kind of ladder device so I can get at all the juicy cherries on it.
I need to think of something thoroughly British for the British GP on Sunday. I'll be drinking Pimms & lemonade of course and have some raspberries & strawberries from the garden to fashion into a dessert, but no idea what to cook for the main course. Something summery... but I'm not inspired

As little as bloody possible if this weather continues.
Hit 37°C in the flat today. :(
I settled on grilled kippers with grilled tomatoes & fresh bread for brunch. I also made some scones, which we're going to have later with clotted cream and some raspberries out of the garden.
For tea we're having Cornish pasties & chips and maybe a cheeky glass of Pimms. Quintessentially British what what :D
Did a new load of pesto last night, mixed with tuna, tomatoes and pasta. Simple.
Steak w/roast chips tonight. Once it cools down.
Not been bread baking for a month now myself, house move and kitchen floods have taken their toll.

You know what makes a really great, filling and healthy lunch? Boiled rice, cherry tomatoes, smoked mackerel and avocado. Plenty of black pepper and you're good to go. Delicious.
Sounds delicious! I absolutely love smoked mackerel. Will have to give it a go. Thanks :)

Good think I have tomorrow off work.
will be served with a good mound of garlic bread.
Dude, that is one complicated chilli. Simplifah yo'self, fool.
I was up for some cooking, my normal chilli is far less complicated.
disappointed though, either they where especially bad chillis, or my tastes buds have died a little more.
Wine and stuff does give it a very complex and mellow sauce though.
