Renault Megane Coupe 1.5DCi Dynamique TomTom to give her full title!
Replacement for the Mondeo which was starting to get a bit niggly, and ~28mpg was starting to get annoying. Hopefully ~60mpg should keep me away from Shell garages.
I'm leasing for 3years/45000 miles and let's just say I got a rather nice deal, over the three years it should cost me the same as the Mondeo to run (and that was assuming that nothing on the Mondeo broke). Only had a quick drive and first impressions are good, it's certainly not fast (1.5 diesel with 106bhp) but economy good and the ride suitably French over potted roads ;)
My Mum has the same car in blue - 1.6dci :) Picked it up last month. Very pleased with it and excellent lease plan.

the back of the new laguna coupe looks very similar to an Aston!
Good looking car. Very popular in France. Hadn't seen one until earlier in the year when I was out there.
I like it. :)
New cars are nice I have to say. Sounds like you've got a good deal. :)

Ah but have you let OcUK dissect your (assumed) personal financial circumstances and recommend you a 9 year old 300bhp sports car instead?
No, I thought not

He's not daft enough to post there ;) (I hope?)
Well it's off to a thoroughly predictable start :D

Parents have the 4 door with the 1.6petrol IIRC.
It's not bad at all - keyless entry and start is confusing at first. Kept going for the ignition.
I do hate the ridiculously short gearing in it and the lights to remind you to change gear. Sod off - thats something I can work out for myself!

Blue would have been my choice if I'd had one, as it was the choice was Black or Black.

The keyless entry is brilliant, just walk up to the car, open the door and hit the start button. The follow me home headlights may result in a flat battery though as I can't help but look out the lounge window and turn them on and off to annoy the people downstairs. I may also have to start reversing in so I can do it to people walking past ;D
Gearing is close as there is a tiny power band and I've not got the lights to remind me to change up flashing yet, I assume it's the ones around the speedo but I've not worked out what any of them mean yet.

Those are the ones. The gearstick picture with the up and down arrow is the gearchange indicator. The petrol goes to 6k rpm iirc and at 3k it starts flashing the up arrow.
I do like the dash layout. It's very well laid out. Not overly keen on the auto lights and wipers the parents have - just more things to go wrong and as it's a Renault... they will. To be fair it's higher spec than they wanted, but it was 4 months old with under 3k miles and they got something like 8k off the list price for it.
Oh, and I really want a go in the new Renaultsport 250 Cup Megane. May have to pay a visit to the local dealer soon.

wait til the battery runs out or you drop and break the card!
Hahah, comedy thread on t'other place. I remember how desperate they were to find out how much I paid for the hotrod when I got it. I wasn't going to tell them and strung them along for ages before letting on that the price was easily enough found on other forums. Off went the OcUK Detectives to find it and 'spilled the beans'. The response was no shock, awe or anything, it was more of an "er, ok, we found out, now what?" as none of them had any idea what an old car like that is worth anyway ;D

mmm, I don't think I have one of them or maybe I've just not found it yet

Damn cunning these French ;)

I should probably have a look in the manual to find out where the bloody thing goes ;D
Oooooh the laguna didn't have that!
Are you sure it didn't? Unless there are two different kinds of 'keyless' Laguna keycards, the ones i've experienced definitely had an actual key in them too :p
Well it wasn't my car, but the key got smashed & there was nothing like that in it, it was just plastic! Or so we thought....
I really like the look of these, good choice :)
Thought of leasing myself recently when things get better financially but often think about where it leaves me when thing get tough again....basically without a car.

There's nothing wrong with buying new if you search for a good deal and there's plenty to be had :)
For example i recently got myself a 1.2 corsa, aircon, CDMP3, alloys, electric heated wing mirrors and funky stereo controls on the wheel. It should have cost around 13.5k, i ended up paying 7k which i'd wager is the first three years depreciation dealt with.
Leasing is a good idea if you shop around properly. You can often get deals that effectively wipe out the depreciation, as Streeteh said. My Mum's car has a ridiculously cheap buy price at the end of the contract comparitive to its cost now (or second hand).

I discovered a critical problem with the keyless locking/unlocking yesterday. I walked out the house, got in the car, started and drove off. It was only when I got to the bottom of the road that I realised I hadn't heard a Beep-Beep as I walked away from the house, then I remembered that I have to use a key to lock the front door ;D
I've been known to try and use my remote keyfob to unlock the house before :o
Lol, you pair of plonkers :D
At least I haven't leant out the window of her car to grab the handbrake yet ;D
