Welcome to my disgusting thread, no pictures though :p

Had a few friends round last night and some drinks on the go. One guy went off to make a phonecall and we never saw him again. Found him at 4am face down in his own vomit :/

On my mattress :(

Firstly in the short term: How do i clean this up in the most effective way? Searching via google is fine but I wouldn't mind some real world answers :)

The stain is also on the carpet too.

Secondly: Would it be better/quicker at this point to toss the mattress and get a new one?

Thanks :)

1. Make you mate do it.

2. And buy you a new mattress.

Carpet is fine, easy to clean. Mattresses (in my hurly experience) should be burnt.

^That

And if he were any sort of mate he would have volunteered to sort it out already :/

Funny enough that's exactly what Matt said, and I said 'don't post that, it's not exactly helpful is it?' ;D

Pebs might know, NYE 2008 was a bit eventful in that sense. I think we ended up throwing everything away in the end.

For the carpet though, try a good squirt of bleach in a bowl of warm water. That should help remove the smell & the stain. Bicarb of soda is good for stains too. I think the mattress will be a gonna though.

He's done a fine job of the carpet but merely tossed the mattress over :(

Also it's soaked in - deffo for the bin :(

Think I'll sleep downstairs for a while....

Sorry to be blunt about this but I'd be marching him down to the nearest place that sells mattresses and tell him he isn't leaving until he's bought you a new one

I did not :D

Just had another crack at it but I'm still going with trashed, easily a 1/3rd of one side is orange :(

Jager and pepperoni as well :(

Yeah a mattress tends to soak things up like a sponge and never really let go. You only end up "cleaning" the outside, the inside is still reaking to hell...

Something to be said for those comfy padded mattress protectors... ;D
