I have a friend who's involved in ,shall I say, iffy activities - of the criminal nature 9 times out of 10! - I'm concerned he'll use the car for something he should'nt and I'd carry the can!

He's offered me £5k to buy my car! - Its worth about £4k tops.

I smell a rat, but, £1k over my cars value is tempting in the extreme!

If I was to sell him the car, I'd notify the DVLA of change etc, but, something is telling me I should'nt sell it to him in the first place despite the money incentive.

What would you do???

Since my car is worth peanuts, if he offered me £5k cash I'd take it! :D

If he doesnt buy yours he'll buy someone elses *shrugs*

I have no morals though, someone else would probably be better to advise.

If you sell it and the records are updated and you have a time and date of when the car was sold - there would be little tying you to him bar the fact you were the previous registered owner. Have you asked him why he wants your car? If you think it's innocent enough I'd go for it.

It depends on whether or not that 5k would be handy to you or whether you need the car.

Sounds like easy money to me, sell it.
