Never thought it would affect a cruise liner that badly.

Amazed that more things (especially in the lazarette area!) aren't tied down or "clamped".

That is somewhat hilarious to watch, but i agree with will, why are the large object fixed in anyway? Esp the fork lift!? Super dangerous down there as that happened...

Mainly because cruise ships avoid situations where that kind of stuff would happen. Not too many passengers are seasoned old salts, so they are susceptible to seasickness. As such, cruise ships generally avoid anything over a 1% wave (if the ship is 600 feet long, a 6 foot wave is the biggest they like to take).

Whomever the captain of that cruise ship was, I can feel safe in betting that he no longer is a captain. With modern satellite weather radar, anti-roll ballasting tanks, bow and stern thrusters and MANY other options at his disposal, there was absolutely ZERO reason for all that.

That would be my worst nightmare. I'd get sea sick on a mill pond!

I remember when sailing across the atlantic (not on a sailing yacht unfortunately :() we did hit big swells, but I've been on yachts since a kid, however, the sea still scares the **** out of me. It's so so powerful.

Hahah, sort of reminds me of that Jamiroquai video.

Epic damage downstairs though, no wonder that guy ran for it before the forklift started trashing the place!

The stabilisation systems must have failed on that. They have big gyros to stop them rolling around like that.

Anybody catch that woman face-planting the column (fnar) in the lounge area?

Yes ;D Sadistically enjoyed watching them fumble about upstairs avoiding the piano, and generally rolling back and fourth :)
