Yep, actually giving it some serious consideration. Never really had an idea before now, but now I do.
I'd like a monkey!
I've was originally thinking of something very stylised ala
http://www.jeanabojangles.com/crazy%20monkey.JPG
However having watch a few episodes of London Ink I'm wondering if something more photo realistic wouldn't be better

I like the photo above and have this idea about a monkey with their arms and legs wrapped around my upper arm as if it were climbing a tree with their face turned so that it can be seen. I've been looking for a photo but I can't see one which shows what I mean :(.
I also think I'd like his little tail droping down below the t-shirt line as a teaser but so it looks sublte when I roll my sleeves up on a shirt.
What does the internet think? Does my idea make sense? ;D

Personally, I think a stylised one will date better. I know a couple of people who have had realistic big cats done on their arms and it just doesn't quite sit right with me.
An aztec or cave painting monkey would look cool though.

Join the club! If you are anything like me then try drawing a cat climbing up your arm, and it should come out just like a monkey...
:(
Get the monkey on your knob and then get your knob done like a banana.

Despite the initial reception I thought I would share with you the style I am now thinking of. Without the cord running down the centre!

Monkehs look ambitious Mr MB!!!
Do you know of any local tatooists to you?
Have been giving it some more thought and I think I will get one done.
After all, now is probably the only time that my mother will forgive me for going off the rails...
Will post a pic later :)

Isn't that intricate part going to be horrendously painful?!

I've seen some Tatts that resemble pencil drawings, The best i've seen in this style is an Indian Chief.I reckon there must be a name for this style of Tatt so I'd find out the name then find out who in the country can do the style then approach them with your pic.
I would deffo stay away from the normal Tramp stampers for that pic.

This is where my friend from old work goes... he has had about 5 tats done here.
They don't have any pics of Chinese calligraphy on there - they must do them surely?!

There are plenty of places where an artist would be able to create something like that for you although I only know the ones up here. I'm about 1/4 way through my side piece and in my opinion its beautiful and very realistic.

Do it Mat.
I am thinking about another one. There is a statue in Philadelphia station of an angel holding a stricken man and I really fancy that as an ink although I am really struggling to get an image that an artist could work from.
this any good?

Thanks for those Kitten.
They are images that I have already looked at but I think an inker would need a straight on to work from.
That said, it could always be done from an angle I suppose.
or you could get someone artistic (if you yourself are not) to draw it front on from the images you've got. Then you can add or take away bits you don't like? Could work. After all it might look really different in ink.
