Probably not one for every car but seeing as a few people on here have slightly more performance/specialist tastes I can highly recommend that you have a look at http://www.hendersontaylor.co.uk/
The renewal on my Elise came through at £702 from Chris Knott who I have been with for 5 years with various cars and have normally had the best (or close to the best) price. I rang up to query and was told it was the best they could do as most insurance companies have increased premiums by 20% to cover young uninsured drivers, the wind blowing the wrong way, etc.
Henderson Taylor were recommended on the Lotus forums so I thought I'd give em a go, £298 including 6 free track days
Holy cow.. that's an insane discount. Do the policies compare reasonably well?
Good timing - my car insurance is due next month. Ta, I'll give them a try.
Is that 6 free track days or free insurance for 6 track days?

Mine's not due until the end of June next year but I've bookmarked them and will give them a look when the time is near.

I'm very impressed TBH, when I've got track day insurance in the past it's been £100/day with a £3000 excess, the excess with these guys is only £1500.

Really not happy with this, ended up paying £15 more than last year despite having another years no claims, using every comparison site known to man (or woman), and actually having to cancel my existing renewal and book with the same company online because they were the cheapest :(
Mate got screwed in a similar way too, cept his way more like £200 more.
Don't think they'd help my basic focus tho :'(
I've just asked these guys for a quote as my renewal arrived today. Let's see what they come up with.
That'll be a no then:

No mention of the word "modified" though, and with different cams it falls into that category.

My Elise is pretty heavily modified and that wasn't a problem.
I think these guys just deal with very specific marques and I guess VW isn't one of them.
