Once in a lifetime trip on Monday, and I want a compact camera to go that can take photos with good quality.
I've been wanting to get one for a while, and it suddenly dawned on me I dont really want to be lugging my DSLR around CERN for three days.

So, I've looked at
PANASONIC Lumix DMC-FP2 £110 ish

Any other options or opinions? I want a camera with a lithium battery and charger, rather than a battery operated one.
Willing to go up toward to £200 for a really good deal.
preferably £100-150 tho.

Muchos thanks!

cheers kitten. Im still liking the sound of the panasonic. Canon Ixus 120 IS looks good too, but is a bit more moolah

Looks like it's got a similar sensor to the DMC-FZ100, which I just happened to be reading about t'other day.

Conclusion was they crammed a few too many pixels in and got noisy images as a result. That was from a pro review site though so as long as you keep ISO as low as possible (ideally less than 400) and don't go pixel hunting, I'm sure it'll be fine.

I went for an FS30. The TZ range was a bit too much money. Im pretty happy with it to be honest! Good results, although no manual control over shutter speed and aperture, but I can live with that for now!

Might consider something like that as a replacement for my five-year-old DSC-P200. I'm all camera'd out for the moment having blown the budget this month but there's a time and a place for a big camera and the 'night out' isn't it. :)
