No point to this thread other than to register my disgust of workmanship in my house and what must be no insulatilon and the most pointless double glazed windows.

Been away for just two days, came home to a house which is measuring 8degres, not sure why i set it to 13 to stop anything freezing or breaking. Heatings been on full whack for 1hr30 and it's now a whopping 9degrees, at this rate i may be warm by tomorrow mourning.

Why can't i win some money and build a passively heated house with concrete internall walls and tripple glazing, warmth and noise insulation.

I've just spent the last 3 hours sitting out in the cold watching City get beat 4-1 by Reading, so yes you could say I was cold right now.

this is ridiculous it's now 9.5degrees. Thankfully room must now be at least 12, door shut, computer and tv on and I have a massive radiator in my bedroom.

Brrrrrrrruh!

Just got in and it's like an ice box in the flat :p

Good heating here, but the insulation is rubbish. I'm always surprised our heating doesn't cost us more than it does. It's going to take a good 24 hrs to get the place up to temperature again though.

AH2, switch EVERYTHING on. Get the oven on and bake some bread and cook dinner int he oven or something so the heat isn't wasted, do the hoovering, ironing, TV on, just get every appliance on that generates heat.

well at 1:30am it reached 13 degress. We are now up to 18degrees, which is what I like give or take.

Bloody hell that's impressively slow to heat up, what kind of heating do you have?

We have single glazing and sash windows in an old tenemant. I am freezing all the time, we now have a duvet in the livingroom because otherwise I complain too much :p

Remarkably not cold at all at my parents. Admittedly I'm lucky in that I don't normally feel the cold much anyway but this year they seem to have the heating sorted and it's very warm indeed - might be something to do with them getting older.

a new good gas boiler with large wall radiators in every room and surprisingly double glazing. there must literally be no insulation and the highest U-value windows they could buy. Would love to see a thermal image of our house.

I actually have the window open, and I can honestly say I'm not cold at all. Could really do with the weather staying like this.
