I'm fascinated by other people's behaviour - you could say I'm a bit obsessed :D

When I've had the misfortune of staying overnight at a hostel I noticed that some of the residents would take two glasses of juice with their breakfast. I assumed this was because they had some kind of points system on their breakfast allowance.

In the canteen at work, however, a large number of people take two plastic cups of water with their lunch. This can only be because they are too lazy to get up and fill it up again. I genuinely find this very strange when there are two taps dispensing cold filtered water up there and no more than 3-4 metres away. Why would you use two cups when one suffices?

I pointed this out to a colleague and he mentioned (completely seriously) that it was because they don't want to get up and have people look at them walking to the water dispenser.

Seriously?

There's a guy in our office in Uppsala who will go downstairs (5 flights of stairs) and move his car if a space becomes free that is more than 5 spaces closer to the building door. Apparently it makes for a quicker exit at home time.

When I was working as a carer, a colleague of mine always started her shift by going to the kitchen and making sure all of the cupboards were tidy and the labels were all facing the right way.

That's also a damn fine excuse for not working for 5 minutes during the day :p

Years ago I worked in a Comet call centre for a short spell and I used to enjoy the people watching and their general odd habits and actions to pass the time.

Lads would pull faces and hold up signs when others were on important calls, girls would obsess over malteasers and swoon over the latest man hunk desktop, the socially inept would smell of cheese and talk about airfix at anyone unfortunate to sit near them on breaks... However...

I think the most curious thing someone did was throw a huge rage strop- slamming his keyboard to the floor he stormed out to the toilet, where he decided to squeeze out a bum brownie into his bare hands before using it as a whiffy-choc crayon to exclaim "F*** YOU COMET" upon the wall.

I'd say that was about as curious as it could get.

Shame that one wasn't caught on CCTV ;D

It's a bit like that old one where the fat guy rips his monitor off the desk and proceeds to smash up his little work area with his keyboard and stuff ;D

Ahhh there's a girl at work who does the whole two plastic cups thing. Luckily they're all recycled and all but it did baffle me when I first saw her do it! Nutter!

There was a guy I worked with once who only ever liked to poop at work... quite the opposite of most I think. He said he'd rather leave stinkiness here than at home!

Looovely!

There's a guy where I work who works upstairs, but when he goes to brownload instead of using the toilet on their floor, he comes down to our bog.... and then just detonates.

I don't know what he eats, but whatever it is, it CANNOT be good for you. I think he must have been the guy that caused BBx some concern on a South Eastern Train in the "complaints" thread...

It is an area effect Weapon of Ass Destruction that renders the entire corridor a no go area for an hour. You need a NBC suit if you want to actually visit the scene of the crime.

And he does it daily! rumour has it that he's not allowed to use the bog upstairs because it's near the Chief Execs office, and he got sick (probably quite literally) of the stench.

There's a thing the lads do here which is take a paper and read it on the floor while they're doing whatever they do in there. When they go, they just leave the paper there for the next person to go in.

*vomits*

I'm not sure about the cup thing, I always take 2 cups of water but then I'm a fair way away from the water cooler, and as I am a clumsasaurus, I'm sure I'll knock everything over and bump into people if I have to go up there more than once. PLus our tables are really close together in the break area, and unless you're on the very end aisle seats, everyone behind you has to get up & push their seat in for you to get out.
