It's a Mk5 Escort RS2000 SP5 Super chipped on 18's & adjustable Spaxs, Interior & body is totally original, It has 97k up it with All the old MOT's to prove it, I am in Love again. :o + :p + ;D

I'd happily drive that. How many horses and torques with the chip?

S'posed to be touching 180 mate but that is probably BS, It goes like Billy O & corners/feels like a go kart.

Straight swap for my Shogun mate, Shocking I know but an indication of how much I liked the RS. In cash terms I've stole it. ;)

This was the first of the fast hot hatches that could outrun my RWD Fords. I remember getting outdragged by one off some lights on the way to a weekend event. I put it down to the car being loaded up with camping equipment but it was just the sign of things to come. Think about it; 180hp in a car that weighs a tonne, compared to a 300hp Porsche with significantly more bloat - they aren't far off each other

Worse though, is most out-the-box standard 1.6 hatchback are now just as powerful and fast if they're pushed to it :( :(

Found out last night the locking wheel nut key is lost so went on a mission this morning down my mates garage & wanged a reverse threaded socket on to them & pulled them off, Took about ten minutes all in & no damage to my wheel paint.
Then I went over a car security/audio specialist to get my alarm re certified, Turns out its a Thatcham 1, Took an hour & cost 50 quid but I'll get that back in insurance savings.

Chuffed to bits today.
Was down my mates tyre/exhaust centre to use a ramp at 5 to 8am, In the back of my mind was how the underneath was for rot but as I'm in Love I had already decided that if there was rot then I'd strip the rear axle out, make some plates (1 of my Fave past times :o) & stitch her back together again, Yes I was expecting the worse.
Anyway up on the ramp & me & my mate went all over it & it's Solid. There is absolutely nothing that needs welding & the underseal that's on is still good, To say I was surprised & chuffed is a major understatement.
I went around the rest of the motor once all wheels were up & all I could find was a slightly on the way out off side rear wheel bearing. I could tell the car was good when I viewed it but I couldn't be sure of the under side without it being up on a ramp, Now I am just Amazed at how good this old Escort is.
My mates place is chokka at the mo so I'm booked in for some Ramp time Tuesday to do the bearing other than that nowt needs doing. I've driven it enough now to be confident with the engine/box/clutch & now I've been underneath I know that to be just as good as the rest of the car.
All there is to do now is go to meets/shows & enjoy & in time I'll gradually mint the body up.
This RS is now in safe & loving hands. :p

The car has aged really well. Not just the condition, but the styling of it....it just doesn't look that old. Great buy :)
