View Full Version : New Frying Pan
Need to get a new frying pan as the current one is finished in more ways than one.
My father owns a small restaurant in town so we have access to catering companies that sell various types of pans.
Any suggestions as to what pan to get? Not looking to blow hundreds of pounds on 5* stuff but definitely want something that won't peel like the crappy Tfal one that we have now.

Well seasoned proper iron pans are pretty sweet, they always looks like **** though... Otherwise any thickbased decent pan will do i'm sure. Metal handle to make sure it can be thrown in the oven when necessary etc... Maybe a glas lid set to go with if possible (i never really use them though). That's all i can think of myself no names from me, i'm in no way brand loyal.

Happy with the 2 Circulon pans I have here - somewhere in £50 range.
Tefal seem to last the best for me. The Meyer one that came with our set lasted a few weeks before the 'hard anodise' had dissolved in the dishwasher and the non-stick was coming off.
I should have posted the website of the catering company catalogue that I was looking at:

To put it bluntly, we need to get a pan that can take some abuse (or at least survive a heavy handed bunch of younger brothers with a metal spatula).
I have a circulon frying pan, which is absolutely brilliant and bombproof to boot. I didn't pay anywhere near £50 for it though. More like £25-£30!! Must have been in a sale somewhere
Any idea on the 'Vogue' range?

I was only going off the Circulon website prices - silly me :)
We buy ours from a local shop and apparently we got the 2 pans for £35 or so.
Meyer or stellar 6000 for me, just treat with respect and they'll last years. Still look like new on the inside.

I would also throw the metal spatula away and buy either a wooden or plastic one
I have a stellar frying pan too and it's really nice to cook with. Also buy some Kitchen Craft Colourworks Silicone utensils and ditch the metal spatulas! Silicone is really durable and won't wreck any cookware.
My big saute pan is a Stellar 6000. It's wonderful and gets used pretty much every day.
