I left work early because I'm feeling like crap. On the way home I stopped at Tesco to get some lemsip and ibuprofen. As I walked back to my car I noticed something wasn't looking right but it wasn't until I reached the car that I noticed the nearside headlight glass is ******.

Looking at the impact point it is clear it was bashed with a trolly but I can't understand how it happened as I wasn't parked near any other cars nor near a trolly park.

I'm waiting to hear how much it'll cost to get replaced, but I was warned that it isn't going to be cheap. The car has front fog lights in the headlight cluster which adds to the cost.

It needs to be fixed ASAP too as I'm off to Heathrow at bastard o'clock on Friday morning.

Between my many other dents and scratches on my car, I have one little deep one riiiight in the centre of front of my bonnet from a shopping trolley. Didn't show on the CCTV either

Don't suppose they got yours on camera?

Apparently the CCTV doesn't cover the area my car was parked in :/

Maybe it wasn't a trolley but some chav act of plain twatishness... :(

Those Mk4 Golf clusters are reknown for being expensive - especially with the fog light as part of the cluster. :/

Hope you manage to get it sorted and it doesn't cost the earth. :(

I suppose it could hve been someone who wanted to be a ****, hadn't thought about that.

The guy I use to work on my car (he works for VW 2 days a week then for himself 3 days a week) told me that the earliest he can get the part is Monday and I'm gonna be a few thousand miles away by then. After talking to my Dad I'm going to leave the car at his place and he'll take me to Heathrow on Friday.

No idea on price yet, I should find out tomorrow or Friday but I have no choice - it needs to be replaced.

Bastards.

I suppose I should be glad the the headlights on my Renault are plastic not glass.

Not only are golf lenses expensive - they're also a bit of a bastard to fit iirc.

Bloddy supermarkets and their lack of decent CCTV. :(
