Pranged the car this morning.....my fault too. Reversing out of the car park.. had a look nothing coming (or so i thought) and hit someone. 12.5 years of driving and my first ever accident :'( Could be worse though I could have been on the receiving end. My car has a damaged bumper... their cars rear quarter panel is a complete mess, window popped and the door won't close. Have a feeling theirs wil be a write off as it's a W reg saxo and it's a lot of damage.

I feel soooooo poo, poor car is damaged.... unsure when it will be on the road again (worryingly they said due to the age of the car I have to wait to see if the insurers would approve repairs or not before they would authorise a courtsey car). Can't imagine they won't authorise just the bumper though :( Of course I have completey ruined someone elses car too

feel like I wanna cry

It happens, dont beat yourself up over it. 12.5 years is a lot of good driving and good luck, just deal with this and go for another 12 :)

aawww http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a139/kell_ee001/Smilies/comfort.gif Don't worry Muban!

Bare in mind it is just a car and since no-one got hurt it could have been a lot worse!

You're ok, that's the main thing :)

It sucks though :/

As you said you could have been on the receiving end - usually that results in more damage. At least you're ok, and no one else was hurt. It sucks though and nothing that can be said can stop it sucking. :(

How badly damaged is your bumper? How hard did you hit the other car?

Do you have to claim? Or can you get another bumper and get it fixed independently? Of course there will be a claim against you...

Sorry to hear that - but here's to another 12.5 years of accident free driving! (Of course don't drink and drive ;))

I can't beleive the amuont of damage to the othe car..... I hadn't even moved a car length out of the space so wasn't even going that fast. They were driving into a space so it must have been the combined speed, but even so I was shocked!

Ouch that thing crumpled a bit.

Bad luck with the accident but like others said, at least no one got hurt :)

Don't worry too much. Eighteen months ago I accidentally drove straight through a crossroads (poor road markings - I thought it was my right of way) and blindsided a Renault Espace at 30mph. Wouldn't have been so bad except it was a mum taking her three kids to school. :( The youngest threw up in the passenger footwell, but no-one was injured thank god.

That was about the lowest I've ever felt, thinking about what might have been. In the end though, if no-one's hurt, it's a whole load of fuss over metal and plastic, and that's not worth worrying about. :)

Wow - I can't believe how crumpled that Saxo is!

I wonder how fast they were moving... It looks as though that bumper is easily fixable - the bodywork looks ok no? I wouldn't settle for this being your blame personally - that person shhould have been careful too if things happened as you said. That person must not have been paying THAT much attention. Surely?

Wow at your story Belmit!!!! Glad nothing serious happened. AS you said it could have been a lot worse.

*big hugs*

I know the feeling only too well .. remember what happened to Dexy ? She looked like this :

Took a little bit of arsing around with insurers but she came back like this :

She'll be as right as rain before you know it and don't beat yourself up about it - we all make mistakes .. I've done it twice !

Still feeling a bitty :/ but much better than yesterday. It's funny both my Dad who came round to check everything out with me and quite a few people I have spoken to afterwards said they thought it sounded more like 'knock for knock' than just my fault. Ah well I have protected no claims anyway.

One pain in the arse though is I don't get a courtesy car until the parts arrive!!! They say it is because it is an import. Grrrr. I hope they don't need to ship a bumper from Japan!

Well he is back and all in one piece, scary pricey but the paintwork is a brilliant match (pretty good as silver can be a nightmare). My new exhaust is fitted... a little louder than I intended :embarassed: when I say a little....:embarassed: Hehe you could fit a badger up it

It's going to take a bit of getting used to ;D

That was quick !! I'm still awaiting for the other party's insurance to admit liability before I can get Barney fixed :(
