Hi All,
After getting a laser printer again since my reliable brother HL-1250 after 6 years of no issues decided to die.
I've been recommended Brother again, and also Samsung.
I notice that samsung have a range of relatively cheap colour lasers too, though I'm not sure on the colour toner prices..
What is the opinion of the cheaper colour models?
Looking to spend not more than £100 if possible, and if good compatible toners are available then that is also a big bonus!
Can anyone help?
Cheers
Matt.

I have always sworn by HP after we had a rather troublesome Brother.
Sadly that is the extent of my knowledge! :(
Save the cheap tat models, the 'known' brands are probably much of a muchness these days as the technology has been around a long time. As always with printers, it's the running cost that counts far more than the label on the edge of the shelf.

I can get brother compatibles for £24 rather than the normal £70 for the hi-cap toners so that should be fine :p

I've never liked HP printers really, but the Colour Laserjet that I've had for 4 years now is excellent. Doesn't get used a vast amount, but the toners are reasonably priced *they're less than a new printer* and the quality is pretty good. It's obviously not a photo printer, but for generic work that doesn't require fantastic subtlety, it's more than adequate.
I still swear by epson for inkjets though.
Only ever used HP lasers at work and they just keep on rocking on. When we come to replace our current one, another HP will take it's place.
We've killed a few HP lasers at work, but because we generally don't replace until it's uneconomical to maintain, that's inevitable (some of them were very knackered after many years service).
Currently using Canon and Ricoh I believe, but we've switched from lots of 'cheap' lasers to a few heavy-duty ones, so unlikely to be much use to you. :)
HP all round - office and studio :)

I will happily get you pricing for Dell Laser printers if you would like.
