I got a deal from Groupon for one of those photo book things so I decided I would use it to make a keepsake for my parents Golden wedding anniversary.

I've got most of the photos I need but I'm struggling to touch up some scanned images.

Could someone with processing skillz have a bash at making these images a bit better for me please? I have uploaded the full sized images to Dropbox.

There are three images; 1 is a scan of their wedding photo which I have done as much as I can with but am struggling with the bottom right corner (it was cropped from an oval shape to make it rectangular).

Next is a scan of a private photo of their Silver wedding. All that needs is a bit of touching up to remove noise etc.

Finally we have a dodgy one. This is a photo from a magazine of them cutting the cake at their Golden wedding celebration (I can't believe nobody from the family (I wasn't there) took a photo of that). The photo was taken by a local press photographer and published in a local magazine. If people have a professional objection to working on this due to copyright issues, I fully understand. The only copy I have is a photo of the magazine page which isn't all that good and I have no idea how to go about making it better.

I've put them in my public folder on Dropbox. You can download them from there but re-uploading them would be tricky so we'll sort something out with that with whoever does the touching up (if anyone).

Ta muchly in advance.

PS: If anyone prefers to start from the originals, I can supply those if required.

I can have a look at home tonight. :)
Which mag was it? They'll probably give you a copy of the pic if you ask, its not of public figures. Worth a try. I'll happily email them if you give me details :)

Thanks Tracy.

The magazine is published by a local media company in Shetland which is owned by the photographer who took the photo. I have contacted them to ask if they would be kind enough to give me a copy of the pic and permission to use it. The photographer (would-be media mogul) is not known locally for acts of magnanimity but you never know your luck.

Result. They sent me the original of the photo.

No need to do anything with the Golden wedding photo, just the other two :)

I thought about contacting them before but was convinced he wouldn't let me use it free of charge. When you said it I thought "Why not, nothing to lose."

So yes, thank you for nudging me :D

no probs, usually they aren't that bothered for a one off, it's only if they think they can make a bit of cash. Could you upload the original of the other two please so I can compare which is better to work with?.
