That’s absolutely incredible, I guess it never occurred to me that an Aurora would be easily visible from space, it looks very impressive.

There’s been a lot of high latitude aurora recently, largely due to the number of solar flares and resulting coronal mass ejections from the sun this month, even just this weekend the radio conditions have gone from total blackout (at 09:40z on Saturday morning) to a SFI of 190-odd with a nice low A index and the bands being wide open. I was working stations on the east coast yesterday evening on 10m with really huge signals each way.

Saw this the other day, it's just so beautiful yet so strange as well to think this happens, it just feels alien!
