I'm becoming an utter disgrace to the hobby. It's been another year since I last touched my Anglia, but finally I've got an engine in and it's got the right bearing in the crank and it all bolts up. It's a standard 1200, as a stop-gap, which I'm *hoping* will cope with having the 2000E close-ratio box on it. I also have an early 1500 which will fit, but it's not complete and my lack of time tells me it's sensible to use the engine that is in one piece and came out of a running car, despite it having no power. I'll be building up my 1700 as and when I get time, but hopefully I've have the car back on the road fairly shortly. The only thing that might hold me up is I'll be damned if I can find the exhaust manifold clamp.
It's been such a long time since I last did any spannering and it's taken me all day to tidy the garage, change the crank spigot bearing and bolt the engine and box in. Just got to wire and plumb it up, bolt on the ancillaries, make up a bend for the exhaust to mate it up to my 2" system and should be good to go. Pretty sure I'll just need to change the top-mount bearings for the MOT because they're feeling a little slack, and it needs a new alternator.
Have a pic of the car for your time (though it's not as shiny at the moment) :)
