Wondering if anyone has read this yet and what their thoughts are?

Currently reading* this and about 10 chapters in and finding it quite hard going, it's very well written and brilliantly descriptive but as a result it moves very slowly. I had a similar problem initially with the Steig Larsson Millenium trilogy but once the story got going they were really enjoyable, wondering if 1Q84 is the same?

EDIT:
I wouldn't recommend searching for reviews, just had a quick look and most of them contain information that whilst not a spoiler as such IMO will lessen your enjoyment of the first few chapters.

Curiously enough I'm also reading a book by Haruki Murakami (Hard-boiled Wonderland and the End of the World) by chance, I can't say I ever recall hearing of him as an author before but I'm enjoying this book so far - it's weird but seems like it might go somewhere interesting and that's good enough for me.

I'll keep an eye out for 1Q84 once I'm done this if I've enjoyed it right to the end.

So I'm making good progress, mainly due to lots of driving recently and listening in the car.

I'm really not sure how to describe this book, it's partly a love story (though not at all mushy), it's partly a thriller and it's partly a fantasy. Overall it's wonderfully descriptive, and I'm really enjoying it.
