View Full Version : Le Mans 2012 - booked
Bit the bullet and booked Le Mans this year. Going down with my dad in his Mk1 Lotus-lookalike Cortina with fresh Lotus steels 2 litre Zetec and, if I get around to fitting them, my brand new out-the-box pair of 45 Webers.
I'm excited. Is anyone else here planning to go?

Thinking of doing the Classic this year for a slightly more sophisticated experience.
I keep meaning to go to that one year.
Will definitely be going back one year, despite my near-death experience a few years ago, but it won't be this year. Will probably end up doing what we did last year and having a boys weekend round a mate's, watching it through the night :)
Possibly doing the WRC Germany in August this year, not sure yet. Plan to do at least one big motorsport event a year :)
You lucky so and so.
Never done it, would love to do it.
One year, I think I need a Motorsport year. Never been to an f1 race either.

I've never been to the 24 hour at Le Mans, although last year I was driving down to visit friends a bit further south and it was a few days before the race, so they were just starting to put the track together. I got to drive around a big chunk of the track (the road sections, obviously) with all the barriers and hoardings up and so on. It was quite nice.
I think I may try and get over to a couple of the 24 hours perhaps next year, Le Mans and the 'ring perhaps.

Lol, what happened? ;D

Done quite a few motorsport events now and they're all good fun. Done F1 at Silverstone three times, Wales Rally GB twice, Le Mans and the Nurburgring 24 hrs once each :)
Oh I remember now. Scary stuff.
Only just seen the news (from back in Jan) that Peugeot have pulled out of the race this year!
Much as I always rooted for Audi over Peugeot, it'll be a massive shame not to see them battling this year and, unless the ACO really have reigned in the performance of the diesels, it looks like it could be a walkover for Audi.
