FM senders

I am borrowing a friends ipod for a car journey next friday; I'd hoped to borrow Mic's sender but he has packed it away so I thought I may as well get myself one.

I am looking for a decent but cheap one that'll work with an ipod. If it does something like automatically scaning for clearest frequency that would be great (will be driving alone so can't really fiddle with things) but I don't even know if they do that.

As I said, I need it for friday so I'll need to order it soon

Car only has a cassette player - sitting here now I can't remember any ports to plug into but I can check

See if the radio has a jack socket on the front. Depends how old the car is. I only got one when I had a newer radio put in the car, purely so I could use my iPod.

If it does, you can get the lead on eBay for a couple of quid.

if it doesn't have a jack socket I'm back to my original question about recommendations for fm senders.

As mic bought one for the car before, i can only assume there isn't a port there (its a road away so I'm not going to check now :p )

They are all rubbish, if it has a tape deck you'd be better with a cassette converter to be honest

My experience in the UK is that if you use one locally they are fine as you can find a free frequency, if you are using one for a journey they are next to useless as you need to constantly retune it. More modern models may be better but given they are FM transmitters a tape adaptor would give you similar quality for a lower cost and less hassle.

I generally found the FM transmitter to be better quality that the cassette adaptor but the cassette is far less hassle.
