Giant Spectacular - Sea Odyssey

You might have heard about the Giants descending on Liverpool this weekend...

Sea Odyssey is a magical tale of love, loss and reunion played out on a gigantic scale. It will take place in key city spaces, moving across North Liverpool and the city centre, wowing the hundreds of thousands of people who are expected to descend on the city over the three days.

This follows on from La Machine (http://www.lamachine.co.uk/index.php/la_machine/)in 2008 with the Giant Spider "La Princesse", and lots of other 'street' events. (photos courtesy of Pete)

I thought it was 2006. :p They actually bid to do it here first but La Machine won the bid with the giant spider, so this was booked to coincide with the Titanic anniversary. It's incredible to see, especially the little dog, Xolo.

The Uncle is 20ft bigger than she is & apparently this is the first time they've been able to walk around a City itself rather than just in the Centre... the council have removed all kinds of bits of road - roundabouts, filter lanes so they can get around.

So many people out there yesterday, such an atmosphere. If you're anywhere near, get down there EVERYONE is smiling! :-)

has anyone seen the big giant before? Think that might be new. No elephant here though, or rocket, but there's been a boat, a bike, and as I've already mentioned, the dog is awesome...made from steel & paper mache! Shoes are ENORMOUS! (not on the dog, obviously).
