My friends & I, aka The Dizzy Dreamers' are walking the walk on May 11th - the 9k Liverpool waterfront Moonlight Walk, to raise money for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, to be precise.

According to the weather forecast, it's promising to be an absolutely minging night, full of wind, rain, tears, soggy socks and blind determination.

Please, make it worth our while and dig deep.

I know you've all probably been generously supporting marathon runners & extreme eventers recently, and 9k isn't that much in comparison, but let me be honest, I'm going for the pity factor here.

We have to wear PJ's and curlers and look like we're about to invade Asda. We're going to be walking the opposite way to most of the people coming out of the pubs. It's going to rain. We're on the waterfront so it'll be bitingly cold. We're going to get wet and cold and grumpy. I'm going to end up with hair wider than Michael Jackson circa 1972 and mascara all over my face like that bloke from Kiss, God knows what my team-mates are going to look like. It may not be Tough Mudder, but it's an endurance event all the same.

Joking aside, the real reason we want you to sponsor us is to help us to raise money for the Roy Castle Foundation who are the only charity in the UK wholly dedicated to the defeat of lung cancer. They fund lung cancer research, provide support, help people to quit smoking & give a voice to all those affected by lung cancer through campaigning.

More details here : http://www.roycastle.org/

So please make it worth our while and chuck any spare cash you've got our way. Even £1 will do to help us struggle around!

If you feel sufficiently sorry for us, you can donate via the website or by text.

To text donate, just text WOMX96 [followed by amount ] to 70070 - so it would look like

"WOMX96 £2" to sponsor us £2, or

"WOMX96 £10" to sponsor us £10. (can be any amount multiple of £1)

Thankyou! x

Thanks hon x It's been hammering down all day but I'm reliably informed that it's not supposed to rain again, but it will be chilly. I can cope with that! I wonder how many people we'll end up with, joining from pubs we pass on the way :D

Thankyou lovelies. All done, great atmosphere, incredibly beautiful setting on the waterfront with everywhere lit up and no rain, \o/ On the downside, horrendous wind against us for the latter half of the route, my faced us seriously wind burnt & bright red. Eeek!!
