View Full Version : 3d films and glasses
I'm tempted to go and see promethius tonight, may as well try the 3D.
Since I wear glasses and don't get on with contacts, anyone worn the things over the top or is it really uncomfortable?

I have worn them over the top of my glasses and don't find it too uncomfortable - my glasses are really low profile anyway so I kind of forget about it all.
If you can notice your glasses sitting on your ears, you may start to get uncomfortable with the added weight.
I can't see it being implausible that 3D contact lenses come out in the future. Not that it helps you now - I can just see it on the horizon (cos of depth perception and all that!)
The glasses are fine over your regular glasses

Well I tried the glasses over my specs & it was horrible, I had to keep holding & adjusting them & it really spoilt the film, I was lucky though as I was at home so just watched the 2D version.
Thanks all :)
edit:- doh, just seen JSB post. 3 to 1 for them
I've watched them with glasses over glasses many a time, never bothered me. Matt does too. Maybe you had a dodgy pair JSB? Sit low down, tilt your head back, they won't move an inch....or...invest in some blue tack :D

I am a bit of a weirdo/old dude/stuck in his ways/freakozoid & things do have to be right for me to accept it.
Didn't think of the blue tack although I was considering cutting the lenses out & taping them over my specs. :o + ;D
Pictures when it happens :P x

Just watch it in 2D, no reason to watch it in 3D.
In the end I didn't see it last night :D Le mans took over. I will be seeing it during the week as I can escape from hotels.

Have you seen it in both 3D and 2D? I always think you can't truly compare unless you've seen it in both.
I could see the bits that were done in 3D when I watched it (in 2D) and I remember thinking it might have been a little bit less sh1t if I'd have seen it in 3D.

Couple of friends have seen both, saw it in 3D initially and went back to watch it in 2D as they didn't like the 3D.

I have an irrational dislike of rubbish 3D, so i'd just agree with Del and say avoid the 3D version if the glasses are a problem! It's a great excuse to save money and faff! ;D
Fair enough. Just everyone always asks whether it's better in 3D or not, and i don't see how you can say unless you've seen it in both. Obviously if someone has told you it's not very good, then that's different.
I thought it was pretty crap in 2D and the only bits that looked interesting were the swirly bits in 3D. For a quid, I'd always go 3D if possible. It's, like, a quid & you'll be unlikely to get the opportunity to see it in that environment once it goes off the flix, however, it'll be available in 2D forever.

There are very few films that I prefer in 3D, including Avengers (which I actually saw in 2D, 3D, IMAX and d-box :p
