Hmmm, I am having a forced upgrade ::/: It appears that win 7 won't play ball with a dual-port dvi solution and a vga monitor through a kvm  You can either have full 2540* res or 1980* res, it will not force a res through without a digital connection.......

Soooo...... The time has come for a kvm upgrade. It needs to be 4 ports with usb and dvi switching. The best I have found thus far are:-

Neither are cheap but they'll be kept for years, like my other one. Any other ideas?

Please let me know how you get on with it. I should probably upgrade my old VGA KVM! :)

Funny you should mention it.... My KVM has stopped working nicely with my latest acquisition :(

Well after a horrendous amount of faffing with windows 7..... we are now cooking on gas :) Who thought that getting two displays talking in a dual screen configuration at their native res was so hard! The faff was windows no fault of the kvm.

I got the Aten this week and set it all up today. I have to say I'm impressed. It switches keyboard and mouse but interestingly also a USB port. So you could say share a scanner between the machines. There is a nice touch which is you can just switch the keyboard or audio separately to the video.

All in all its black and housed in a nice proper metal box unlike Belkin! Bit pricey but it does support high resolutions without issue and you'll keep it for years.
