Without a shadow of a doubt, hardtop, convertable, FWD, all mod cons, unusual, nippy and reliable.

Looks rubbish without the rear spoiler though and try and avoid the ones with the electric roof its very swish but expensive to fix if it goes wrong.

Lovely little car

Bloody hell thats expensive!

I used to have an ESi and it was sweet, mother had a VTi until I took it to H's graduation ball and someone broke into the house and nicked the keys :-/

Lovely little cars and handle very sweetly

Bit of a problem up in this part of the country unfortunately. Imports are pretty rare up here so they charge a premium. Although I love going to these places just to ogle ;)

The CRX is probably easier to drive and will feel and probably is faster than an MX5, its FWD which you are probably used to, the lid won't get cut open like a rag top can, its quieter too because of the solid roof.

I think they look a lot better too, fair point they aren't as modable as the MX5 or quite as easy to drive hard but they are great fun.

Someone seemed to think over at the other place that they were turbos, they aren't and never were as standard they do however have VTEC if you go for the VTi version or import equilalent and and this makes the car a total animal over around 5000RPM it just boosts forward as if it has a small turbo when it comes on cam and the noise is amazing!

Top car, I'd have another one in a flash, it I wouldn't look quite as gay as I remember.

another vote for the MX5. i've got a MK1 1.8 1996 and i love it to pieces. i also have a hardtop and it looks awesome with it on. mine's 140bhp (non-stock air filter) and tops at about 130mph indicated (123ish indicated with the roof down)

Get the mx5 and then I can drive it from time to time :p

The CRX isn't a real car. Its a toy car. You can't actually fit in one, it just looks real car-size on the photos.

If I can fit in one, anyone can fit in one :P

Aye - it looks standard bar under the bonnet ;)

Dynoed last week at 192.1bhp so I'm pretty pleased with that. 8-)

Damn. Seems you've been unlucky as they are usually reknown for their bullet proofness. How many miles has it got?

80k...im hoping that if i replace a load of stuff on it, it'll run for aaaages again. i really love the car, and it'll take quite a lot before i quit on it.

god, it looks like someone hit Penelope Pitstop with an MX5. i wonder why 5-drivers get such a bad rep....

You've replaced the cam so it should be good for ages yet. There's a REALLY good mechanic who specialises in mx5s he helped with the turbo conversion for me - he's based in West London - might be worth looking him up?

if much more goes wrong with it, i might have to give him a call. so far, it's only been relatively small stuff though so i'm not too bothered. have you got his name/number?

The guy's called Phil Dixon - he's actually got a website here:

http://www.performance5.co.uk

Really top bloke and not too expensive either - and his work is top notch.

ah well there you go. :) His reputation does precede him - and rightly so too. :)
