Good luck :)
I was really nervous before mine but I had a really friendly examiner who helped me relax - it was a breeze.
Mine was back in the dark ages though when it was quite a bit easier than it is nowadays :P

Good luck, I remember mine like it was 17 years ago.
Oh wait it was 17 years ago.
Good luck :)
I just checked to see when I took my test, turns it out was 10 years ago today!
Good luck Paula.

Good Luck Paula..
Fingers legs and toes crossed Â*8-)
I passed my test on my 18th birthday Â*- 25th Feb 1986 on my 4th attempt hehe ::)
1st November 1992, I'm so old! :'( Passed the second time after failing quite magnificently the first time around!
Only passed mine in novemeber. Had a phobia of driving after an incident when I was 17 but decided to beat it by gritting my teeth and getting behind the wheel.
Took 3 attempts to pass mind. First time I failed for 'hugging a roundabout'. What can I say? I'm a loving person!

So you were a n00bie driver @ the swansea meet? I had no idea!
Paula - I hope you pass :p

Yup. As soon as we lost Lostkat I said to Muban 'Bugger. I'm going to have to lead them there now and I've never driven there before!' Panic!
Good luck Paula!
Good luck :)
I was incredibly nervous, failed the first time due to being 'hesistant' when a rubbish truck appeared in a practically one way bridge in the middle of nowhere.
Passed the second time with np and the examiner then was fantastic :)
Good luck :)

Would it have made a difference if it had been a decent truck rather than a rubbish one? ;)
Roberta, I remember the feekmobile crew having a light hearted dig at your driving in Swansea and then feeling all guilty when someone said you'd only passed a few weeks before *blush*
I was crapping myself to be honest!
Of course, I drive like a pro now. *ahem*
Good luck :)

Yes, it wouldn't have distracted me by being so ugly :D /girly comment :P
Best of luck!
It's great because
a.) even if you fail, you have your birthday 2 days later anyway
b.) if you pass, you'll have bonus fun from the birthday too.
You can't really lose! :p

Good theory, except I will be there on her sofa waiting for her return.
I dont think I will be able to stop myself from even small jibes if she fails. Being a girlie type though, she will probably be in floods of tears if I even suggest she is unfit for the roads... Its a tough life isnt it :( :p
I was fine when I failed - I only burst into tears and hugged the examiner when I passed!

If you say one thing, even a little jibe i will make you sleep in the spare room until you go home. :p
Yes i will probably cry, if i pass or fail i'm silly like that.
Good luck Paula :)
Keep your cool and you'll be fine :)
It took me 4 goes to pass my test. First examiner I had was the most notorious in Lincoln for failing people, he said I should've passed- so why did he fail me? Second was a guy who'd only recently switched from instructor to examiner, it was more like a driving lesson than a test which made me relax too much. Cant remember the 3rd. 4th time lucky, it was a woman examiner who just let me get on with it.
4 is my lucky number, I passed 4th time on the 4/10/00 and mine was the 4th pass certificate from the examiner's book :)
good luck
im sure you will do just fine :)
Good luck! Don't do what I did when I passed, and say "Thank god for that, I thought I'd failed when I didn't indicate onto the dual carriageway back there... um..." :lipsrsealed:
When I passed my test, the examiner worked with me at BT. We were both skiving so he had to pass me really. ;D

LOL! ;D
Good luck Paula, you'll be reet :) Your perception of cars and driving will change completely when you've passed your test too. So much FREEDOM :D
I passed mine 1st time on 18th Feburary 1998. I was shocked and amazed because I genuinely didn't think I was going to pass. The night before I'd had a test run in our old Peugeot 309 and I was absolutely awful. I just had luck on my side that day :)

Easier said than done, but stay relaxed and in control, and you'll do fine.
Nervousness leads to mistakes, so try to stay calm.
Good luck! Tell us how it goes.
Good luck Paula! You'll do great!

Nah they always allow one casualty per driving test :D
That sucks.. chalk it down to experience, even though it doesn't sound like it was your fault much. Meh, book the next one and get it passed. :)

That's what they say to make them feel less like losers :p
Seeriously though that's tough luck Paula. :( When you booking yourself in again? You obviously are ready to pass - you just need to go and kick ass :D
Gah, never mind, I passed second time (barely). As you know it's luck of the draw as well as you are driving under a lot of stress and in an unatural and unrelaxed style.

Keep ringing 'em they often have cancellations. It might be worth it? Don't stop practicing though, but don't get into bad habits.

I passed my test bonfire night last year :)
EDIT: bad luck Paula :( sorry you didn't pass
like Will said just keep checking with cemtres, but your driving instructor should help you with that so they have the car free
You can book online too. That's how I got a cancellation and got in quick.

I booked online the last time, my instructor is actually my primary school teachers husband and we are good friends. He straight away got on the phone and booked in another test as soon as he could (he even paid for it, i'm paying him back). Will try get cancelation but who knows.
I'm not upset i thought i would be  how odd.
The only bad part is that the only driving i get to do is during lessons, as my parents both drive automatics and no insurance company will touch me on their cars. My instructor said he was proud of me as i'd had less than half the average time it takes to pass (or not pass :p but take my test).
I'm not upset i thought i would be  how odd.
That's good :) I was :embarassed: Ended up crying on the way back which scared the life out of my instructor because he really didn't think I was the crying type ;D It was mainly because the examiner that failed me was a really miserable, patronising, nasty bloke. If he'd been nice about it, then I doubt I'd have reacted in that way.

I must say it wasn't just any car either, it's a bit of a death trap, but not in the way my car is ie. falling apart.
The best part of that was when you suddenly realised we were at 130mph and we both hadn't realised ;D

I will cross my fingers on the 8th for you.

Nice one, good luck with it, sure you'll do fine :D

Good luck Miss Blackstar.

My friend has just failled hers for "going too fast in a crowded street" I asked her what speed she was doing and she assured me she was doing 20mph, which sounds about right.
WTF? When she is out with me she is better than a lot of my mates who do have driving licences. Apparently the examiner was a woman who was in a bad mood fro the out. I said to complain but what use is it?

Now what car you got sorted? Get your own insurance from the start, yeah costs a lot but well worth it, build up some NCB i didn't wish i did now. :(
Do the pass plus too, i wish i'd done that too :(!
Well done anyhow :D

Any old banger will do, few hundred on a car and then probably 1.5k a year for the insurance. If you get your own car your parents might help you with insurance. Think the best person to talk to about getting old bangers is Lopez but i might be wrong with that :D
Congrats :D

Nah if she's female it should be a bit nicer. Although I'm not sure how much the fact I was 21 when I got my first car affected it.
Mine was £600ish for a 1.2l clio.

:'( :'(
I've been quoted 2.5k to renew my insurance on the 'mera. CIS just don't want me, but shopping around hasn't got me many better deals. No NCB 19 male I face a steep hill. I'm currently looking for a cheap banger myself that I CAN actually realistically afford to insure (maybe not run though :D) in order to just accrue some bloody NCB!
One of my very biggest regrets is last years accident. If i could change anything that would definately be near the top of the list.
/Hates insurance
Ouch:( I do pity you :/
If I can get to 1 year's NCB then my insurance goes down to £300, much nicer.
Hoping to be able to get to 2 year's NCB and by then have more money so I can get a better car :)
