Been managing with a 14" 'portable' CRT tele since moving into my new flat.

With me getting paid a nice starting bonus in a couple of weeks I decided today I could really do a bit better.

Been hunting around all day for a cheapish but half decent HD ready 26" LCD tv.

Quite liked the Samsung R73 series from seeing them in shops but assumed they'd be too much.

After a little digging around on avforums.com I found some rather handy discount codes to get the 26" R73 with built in freeview tuner down from £729.99 + 19.99 delivery, to £477 inc delivery!!

Pretty pleased with that - it should arrive on Thurs.

avforums.com seems to be down at the moment, but when it's back up I'll post up a link to the thread with the discount codes in. There's a specific one for loads of different TV sets, then a general one for 10% off any product, and another for free delivery.

With all the coupons stacked up it actually made currys cheaper than the e-tailers you'd usually associate with being cheap!

Right, some handy discount codes for Currys...

Product specific codes:

Panasonic TX26LXD60 26" High Definition Digital LCD TV:
121044CFP

Samsung LE26R73BD 26" High Definition Digital LCD TV:
835543CFP

Philips 26PF5521 26" High Definition Digital Widescreen LCD TV:

Once you have used the product specific codes, you can also stack the following codes for further discount:

"YOUATWORK1" Furthur 10% off your sub total
"PRFREEDEL" Free Delivery

I didn't use the below as my order came to less tan £500, but they'd probably work too:

Save £80 when you spend £1500 - code CURRYS801500 exp 03/nov/2006
Save £50 when you spend £1000 - Code: CURRYS501000 exp 03-Nov-2006
Save £40 when you spend £800 - Code: CURRYS40800 exp 03-Nov-2006
Save £25 when you spend £500 - Code: CURRYS25500 exp 03-Nov-2006

You can also get a further 3.5% cashback if you enter the currys site via http://www.quidco.com/ (quidco account costs a £5er per year).

A lot of these codes are originally from http://www.lcd-tv-deals.co.uk/index.htm, so it's worth looking on there if you're after another screen.
