I've been getting a message from MSN saying that someone calling themselves B-o-r-e-d (kaine_zsog@hotmail.com) has added me. I didn't want to block it in case it was somebody I knew but nobody has contacted me to let me know it is them.

If it is someone from here, please make yourself known.

I will be blocking this shortly if I don't hear anything.

That name sounds familiar. Think he's off ocuk. Possibly Kainz? I'm not sure.

Can't think why he'd be adding me  I don't know the guy at all.

Hmm no, it's not him. Just checked on ocuk.
I definitely know the name though.

Be careful Stan mate, I've heard some Dodgey Doris is spreading a virus around MSN ;D
She appears to be all cool and sexy but really she is a Carrier.

O yer and it's not me.
you should do what i do and have a Monthly MSN deletion day. I put in text after my name Non Talkers will be Deleted. Give it a day or so and anyone who hasn't commented Delete them. :)
Works for me.

It might just be me but I've had quite a few people add me from OcUK for no apparant reason and then about half never seem to speak to me which is odd, I've always been of the opinion that if you add someone then it should be you to initiate the conversation. Or is that me just being odd? I've now got a specific group at the bottom of my MSN list for folk who have randomly added me so that it doesn't interfere with my other groups.

Sorry Stan I have no clue who that might be though, I haven't got them on my contact list.

I used to get loads add me just to say 5 words at most and that was it forever. Mainly teenage boys though :undecided:

I'm sure some people use their msn list as a penis extension :p

I used to get loads of random adds from OcUK bods, but removing my MSN from my profile put an end to that.

Unless I recognise the address then I don't allow people to add me to their contact list. I prefer to have people on my list who I actually speak to.

Let me guess.. the 5 words were

"Do you have a boyfriend"?

I'm exactly the same. If they chat, seem nice and it's more than about 5 words in a month etc they get moved into a group. If they don't, they stay where they are and get deleted sooner or later.

Keeps my MSN list nice and tidy :)

I would guess "omg gurl on the intarweb"

Haly

And quite often 'omg a girl on the intaweb that plays games :o' ;D And block :D

Never really been bothered by random adds as such but I adopt a similar policy. If the identity of the person is not clear from their username or address, I reject it unless the person identifies themselves by some other means.

So if you call yourself "I've got a stiffy" and your address is "randombloke@hotmail.com", don't bother to add me on MSN unless you e-mail me first :p

Same goes. I took my MSN address off of forums about a week after I decided to add it. The only exception is here. However, conversations seem to have dried up a bit (with a few exceptions). We need another smut-laden Saturday evening of MSN carnage. :D

Also, anyone with a MSN address or name containing profanities is automatically denied, no questions asked. Please don't take that as an insult - it's just that I value my job.

I'm free on Saturday night. And there will be beer and/or wine.

I'm not. :(

Out at meets next two weekends. One of them I seem to have ended up organising.

If anyone's down Reading way this Saturday afternoon then feel free and welcome. Note however that it's a geeks (i.e. DC fanatics) meet. :)

Stan, it's SherberT* :)

Thanks Rob - nice bit of detective work there.

I wondered why he might have been trying to add me but after doing a bit of research, he participated in a whisky thread "over there" which I participated in also - he may be looking to discuss whisky.
Daft sod might at least identify himself.

Thanks

Stan :)

Hmm, it says I can't add you as you haven't signed up for a Micro$oft Passport Stan?
And that I can't IM you unless I'm browsing with IE :(

Must be some problem your end mate. I most certainly do have a Microsoft passport.

I'll try adding you.

Stan :)
