Hi all

I'm toying with the idea of switching to newsgroups for a load of my stuff for the speed aspect. I'm considering going with giganews on their unlimited package for $24.99/m but they also offer encrypted traffic for an extra $5.

What providers are other people using, do you recommend anyone?

I've always used easynews. $10 a month for 10gig. Pretty sure all unused still rolls over to the next month too. I love their web search, par viewers and virtual zip files.

Encrypted is useful for those providers who still packet shape unencrypted P2P but don't touch encrypted. That number is getting smaller though (it was only ever going to be a stopgap).

Unfortunately, by it's very nature, when they start shaping encrypted P2P, they pretty much manage to shape all encrypted data (though at least in my case the first few GB gets through unscathed).

I htought that was the reasoning behind encrypted connections. At the moment Telewest doesn't seem to throttle anything \o/ Its just all the ADSL providers are throttling at the mo.

1.10. EasyNews Gig Limit
Question:
What is the EasyNews gig limit?
Answer:
The subscription EasyNews offers is $9.98 for 30 days of service or 20GB of downloads, which ever limit is reached first. This is a monthly recurring charge until cancelled by the customer.

If the 20GB limit is reached before a billing cycle is reset, the user will be "locked out" of the account until the rebill date or until additional gigs are purchased, manually resetting the account for another 30 days or 20GB.

Any part of the 20 GB not used during a month "rolls over" and is available for use in the next month and following months.

You can also earn a free 2gig a month by completing their survey once a week.
