Anyone know what RPGs are coming out vaguely soon?
I know Oblivion and Enchanted Arms are out now, don't know of any other RPGs out already.
Mass Effect has got a March 2007 date slated but i'm half expecting it to fall back. Heard about Lost Odyssey but can't find a release date for the UK yet.
Any others?

Mass Effect is the only one that has grabbed my attention enough to make me want it. Made by Bioware, I just know it's going to be amazing.
There is the new Phantasy Star out on the 24th, but IGN only gave it 6.8 so I won't be bothering with it personally. On the same day a Mega Drive Collection is getting released on the PS2 and PSP, which Phantasy Star 2, 3 and 4 on it (among others), I'll be getting that instead! :D
Only other one I can think of is Blue Dragon, out now in Japan and supposed to be pretty good. Think MS said it was going to get released over here, but not sure when.
Cool, didn't realise the mega drive collection was out on PS2 as well, might have to pick that up :)
Mass Effect's going to be fantastic, it just needs to hurry up :D

Still not 100% sure about Mass Effect, something about the combat system i sputting me off a little, but it is looking very good.
The Mega Drive collection is a must for me, it'll be worth the cash just for PS 4. :)

Bah, was going to bid on Enchanted Arms earlier on ebay but due to the chaos of the evening. I forgot :(
Have to keep an eye out for another decent deal.

Nah, it's the type of game that fits perfectly onto the PSP I reckon, can play it in work as well then ;D

Scarily Gameplay has it listed as 30 March, same as Mass Effect.

maybe Kameo. it's supposed to be pretty short, but it's by Rare, so that can never be a bad thing
There's a Mass Effect demo walk through on the market place. Not sure if it's old or not, but pulling down anyway to have a butchers :)

It came out not long after E3 this year, but it shows off just how good it should be. It's my current most anticipated game on the 360 for the next few months :)

Mass Effect is February as far as I know, can't see it being out next month.
a Mega Drive Collection is getting released on the PS2 and PSP, which Phantasy Star 2, 3 and 4 on it (among others), I'll be getting that instead! :D
This is due out tomorrow and is one of my most anticipated games this year, along with Mass Effect & Fabel 2 of course. ;)
This looks like a weekend filled with RPG nostalga as I blast my way through the Phantasy Star series. :)
This may be of interest to anyone getting it, relating to saving games on the PSP
Just press select any time during game, then hit SAVE GAME.
Boom, there you go. YOu can do this with all games in this collection.
Just be sure after you load the game up from the menu, you press select, then load game
Looks like you can't use the original ingame save system, you need to use the PSP save.

Oh I'll be nipping into town Saturday to pick this up. I'd get it tomorrow but I'm playing footy after work so won't have time to get into town. The PSP version is definitely the way to go, I can play in work and the ability to save it anywhere is ace :)

Tesco didn't have it, but Blockbuster did (and got myself a Subway from next door as well \o/) :) Just charging the PSP now before having a blast on it :)

One release date says end of March, another says May, so I'm guessing April as it's in the middle. Certainly not long to go either way :)
25th May supposedly but I reckon that'll get pushed back again as it has a few times now.
And the rate I'm going through games at the moment, I need plenty :p

Eternal Sonata :) The games looks absolutely stunning, so I'm going to be naughty and create a Jap live account later and grab the demo. It's localised for English anyway, so no language barriers.
Looks good :D I'd rather turn based but still looks right up my street.

I quite enjoyed it, even though I died at the very end of it (a mini-boss had me). I prefer the battle system to Enchanted Arms, maintaining turn based roots if you like but adding something new to the mix. It's similar to FF12's battle system though swinging slightly more towards turn based. Looks wise it really is gorgeous, sort of like Monkey Island meets Enchanted Arms. It's cell shading, but nowhere near as in your face as something like Wind Waker - much more subtle, and it makes for something very pleasant on the eyes.
If the demo is anything to go by the world will be very much like Enchanted Arms - ie, couple of side paths here and there, but largely a non-open world with ultimately one place to go. Would have liked something more open having just played through Enchanted Arms, but hey, cant always have what we want right?
It's definitely looking like a potential buy at this stage, pending what I hear about the plot anyway, the demo has nothing story related whatsoever - not even a prologue.
Worth a look Jen if you can be arsed setting up a Jap account.

Oh, forgot to mention, each character has a special ability that changes depending on where they stand - in the demo it's different depending on if they're in sunlight or shadow, but that's easily extendable I guess. Adds an extra tactical element to your battles - for instance, your healer can only do so in sunlight, not shadow.

When I was pulling down the Eternal Sonata demo I noticed a Tenchu demo there as well which isn't up for UK customers yet. I grabbed it, and while it's in Japanese it's fairly easy to get to grips with. Some nice brutal kills if you can sneak up on people and drive your sword through their back, or slice their necks in twain. :D
I'll be giving ES a try tonight when I get a bit of time. How long does the demo actually last for?
You'll be done in 30 minutes with any real pace. Encounters can be avoided if you want, except where they block your path anyway. You have a little area before a village, the village (Encounter free, but some items to be found if you have a look about), and then a dark forest which is half a dozen screens long or so (and looks stunning).

I'll have a lot more time soon for a bit so going to settle into FF12 but it would have been nice to have a 360 RPG to play.
Although might console myself with a replay of FF7 :D
What about Two Worlds?
SouthPeak Games has announced multiplayer details for Two Worlds, its upcoming free-roaming RPG epic for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PC. Two Worlds' multiplayer mode is completely separate from the game's epic solo adventure, with players able to create custom characters around traditional multiplayer RPG classes. A hub-like lobby area will allow participants to form small teams of up to 8 players in order to tackle a wide variety of team matches, as well as engage in familiar online activities such as chatting and trading. With new team matches, equipment and other off-the-wall activities such as horse racing and monster hunting in the pipeline, Two Worlds is set to become one of the most comprehensive single and multiplayer RPGs available on any system.
Melanie Mroz, Executive Vice President, SouthPeak Games says: “We're thrilled with the progress that Two Worlds' multiplayer content is making, although the extensive play-balancing and testing that content requires has necessitated a shift of the release date to late July. Two Worlds will be in stores for Xbox 360 and PC in July 2007.

I've heard bits and pieces about Lost Odyssey, it's produced by the creator of the original Final Fantasy series :) And the music is also done by the same guy as Final Fantasy so some good pedigree there!

Just watched that and it looks good, have just read the ign hands on from September and it seemed good then so with another 9 months development, it should be rather sweet.
An interesting preview (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=78472&page=1) of Blue Dragon.
We should see a Blue Dragon demo on the 20th, all be it time bombed (http://thexboxdomain.net/2007/07/05/blue-dragon-hits-marketplace-on-july-20th/). A strange choice but looking forward to trying it never the less.

I'm really looking forward to Blue Dragon, I was let down by Enchanted Arms' infuriatingly common battle sequence and the fact I had the wrong team to take on a certain boss so it became impossible to defeat it.
I'm starting to think it was just me that liked Enchanted Arms :p

Nah, I liked it. Infact, it was my most anticipated game at the time (no mean feat considering it was up against Madden 07, Saints Row, Test Drive Unlimited and Dead rising), so it had further to fall from grace.
Blue Dragon's been reviewed by Edge, only got 6/10 :(
Hope I still like it.
The demo did nothing for me, Haly.
Ditto me - I'm holding out for a good story though, in a Jap RPG a good story would compensate for a weak battle system - at least for me anyway.
Though I'm now holding out more hope for Eternal Sonata - I enjoyed that demo much more, and it's quite a stunning world in there.
I really can't use the demo as an example of the game. It had no story development because that'd be impossible to have in such a brief demo that was based smack in the middle of the game.
I remember years ago playing a demo of FF8 and that was crap but the game wasn't.
Strangely on the subject, the game isn't out yet, but has DLC just put on the marketplace!

How strange! The review stated it was pretty easy so guess it's in preparation to make it a bit more challenging.
Having thought about it, I'm not cancelling my pre-order, I remember Suikoden getting a crap review somewhere and it's still one of my favourite PS1 RPGs :D
