View Full Version : Are you attached to your keyboard?
I love my keyboard. I was thinking about upgrading (to something like a G15) but I just dont like anything else. I will use this keyboard until it is dead!
Its a Logitech Internet Navigator. IMO, one of the best keyboards ever. Three years later and some of the paint is worn and the wrist rest definitely knows where my hands like to sit but it has never missed a beat.
Is the G15 the "best" keyboard today? I seem to recall "back in the day" that this keyboard was right up there...
Me and you have the same keyboard and mouse dude, and I'm the same, I cant see me changing :D The poser in me was tempted by a Di Novo at one point though, it's tres sexy.
I'm fussy about keyboards. I really like my (/turns keyboard over to check name) Microsoft Wireless Natural Multimedia keyboard. I've got one in the UK office, 1 in Paris and a couple at home plus a few spares in the office for when I inevitably kill one with a coffee related mishap.
When I find a keyboard I like, I'm loathed to change.
I bet that one is not available any more - I'm using a Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 which is pretty good, but the black colour makes any dust and dirt stand out a lot more than on a traditional coloured one.
I spent a fair while looking for an MS wireless Natural keyboard with no joy so I got the 4000 as my old MS natural was on it's last elbows. Work bought me one for my desk here as well :)

Fond of my DiNovo and it lets me sit away from the screen :)

I use a MS bluetooth elite keyboard here at work which isn't bad, but I prefer my MS erg keyboard I used at uni as it was excellent once you got used to the layout.

A keyboard is pretty much just a keyboard to me although I admit I need to have a double-height return key and American layouts just hack me off.
My current one is a Microsoft Multimedia Keyboard 1.0A in black which I haven't seen for years so when it eventually breaks I'll just buy another bog-standard Microsoft one I imagine because I like the action but most keyboards now are pretty good that I've used including several Dell ones and a couple of Logitechs.
I've got the same keyboard as you too :)
Love it, it just fits perfectly :D
I like my Logitech MX3000 desktop - laser mice for a start seem to work better for me, but I like the way the keyboard feels. It's relatively quiet too - I don't like loud keyboards. I REALLY like my laptop's keyboard - which is why I only ever get HP laptops.
I don't really like MS keyboards - I'm a logitech fanboy I'm afraid :embarassed: The di novo is nice but I can't justify the cost tbh.
Having used the Logitech Elite Keyboard (actual name) a while back it is indeed a great keyboard. The best I'd ever used imho. Till I got an Apple one. I currently use the Apple Bluetooth one and its brilliant. No wires no fuss. I change the batteries once every 8 months or so. I never turn it off or worry about battery life. It has no noticeable lag either. As for mice I use a Logitech MX1000. Again a nice sense of freedom having no wires. I am quite partial to them and can't see myself upgrading unless there's something really really good around.
I've just noticed my keyboard is shockingly filthy
Just a plain standard Logitech cordless keyboard here, feels very nice though - gonna have to go clean it now though :p
My keyboard is stinking. I really need to get a new one but can't be arsed.
Microsoft Wireless Natural Multimedia Keyboard here, and the same in the office. Both as part of a keyboard/mouse bundle.
When it looked like it was time for them to go out of production, I bought two complete spare sets, both of which are still boxed up (must remember to go pull the batteries out of their boxes, which I forgot to do at the time. D'oh). I've broken the leg off one of the keyboards, but it's balanced on the monitor stand with the broken leg re-attached with electrical tape. Survived so far. :)
I've got a Microsoft Ergonomic 4000 and I liked it so much I got one in work as well as home. Very nice bit of kit that saves me hours of mouse-fiddling.

Im currently using a Logitech 'corded desktop' keyboard. Its not bad, but quite basic and some of the media shortcut buttons don't work. Im still waiting for the Optimus keyboard to be released. http://www.artlebedev.com/everything/optimus/
As for my mouse im using a MX1000 which I love. The only mouse that would tempt me to change is the Logitech revolution due to the really wide thumbrest. Silly expensive though.

MS Natural Ergonomic 4000's here mainly now *as they're cheap and easily available.*
Also have several MS Natural Pro's which I absolutely adore but are getting very rare now. :(
Won't use any other keyboards if at all possible. Ergonomic are the way forward.

I thought I'd broken my two wireless keyboards and went and bought a new wirey one. When I was taking the wires (!) out for the wireless I noticed the remote thingy wasnt plugged in properly :(
But I have a little metal looking keyboard now. I hated it to begin with and only stuck it out cause I couldnt be arsed to change it back to the other one, but now I love it. Can't type for toffee on it though.
Can't type for toffee on it though.
That would go some way to explaining the jokes then.

I use a plain Cherry keyboard, and I love it. I always go back to it. There's no extra buttons on it, and it's noisy as hell (mostly the space bar) but I love the feel of it.

I used to have a Logitech UltraX keyboard (the one with the laptop style keys) and absolutely loved it, and for some reason I changed to a Saitek Eclipse. It is still a regret for me to this day...
I wish I could get a keyboard with slim keys and which is lit up. :(

I have a certain style of KB i like.
It started with the Speedlink Ultra metal.
Basically i like laptop style keys that are flush and i like the weight and feel of metal KB's.
The flush keys are superb when pwning noobs as my fingers don't catch any risen keys as my hands sweep over the KB. The weight keeps the KB from moving and the metal not only looks nice it feels nice.
On top of that they are the perfect size for my pully outty bit on my Super trick desk. I have a great desk that cost me nigh on 200 quid. The KB sits perfectly next to my Metal Allsops mat. Jobs a good'en.
