What a yawnfest. Yes its pretty (pretty dark) and yes its bloody (bloody repetitive). This game has been done a zillion times before.
I'm going back to Lego Star Wars
That is all
And no I haven't played it co-op and I can get to grips with the controls as I really liked GRAW, but this is just meh :/

Lego Star Wars rocks. :D
Not overly bothered by Gears of war as a FPS on a joypad is crap.

well MB, if you want to offload it at a heavily discounted price, i'm in the market for it :D
seriously, if you want to get rid, i'll probably take it :)

Well im quite happy with Medieval2: total war thanks. FPS games don't really do it for me.
I've not played much GoW and I've not bought it simply because I'm so used to the PC way of playing FPS (keyboard + mouse = win) that I was totally hopeless at GoW.
As has already been said, Lego Star Wars rocks. It was a total bargain at £30 too.
I liked what I played of it personally :)
And I'd definitely argue that you can play FPS games with a joypad, just a matter of adjusting to a different style of controlling the character.

Fingers crossed we see it before Halo 3, and that it's actually usable.

Personally I agree with Haly, it's just a matter of getting used to using a controller to a mouse and keyboard. When I first started playing MOA on the cube I was completely crap :( couldn't run and shoot to save my life, now I'm ok.
Same could be said of gears, I only tried it out for a minute or so and thought if possible I'd tweak the controls slightly, can you change the controller configuration?
Great gfx and the duck n cover style gameplay is a nice change of pace from walking in and taking 500 rounds to the face without dying. Can't say I have too much of an issue with the controller either. Its very nice to play on and I loved GRAW with it. Never felt I needed anything better.
Considering its a 3rd person shooter, I don't see why there would be any issues with FPS controls anyway :p
I played the first few 'levels' and it didn't really grip me, so far its not one of those games that I feel I must play, and I haven't touched it for about 2 weeks. The running and the duck and cover features also felt very clunky to me.

I have to say I absolutely love it, and would consider it one of the best games on the 360 so far (and I've played a lot of them). Yes it's been done before, but then again if you break it down there's pretty much nothing new you can do in the genre anyway. I think it's done with style, it draws you in (despite the lack of any real storyline), and it's done with superb beauty (best looking game on the 360 so far, without doubt). I love the fact it doesn't cheat you as well. There are some games where parts of it feel stupidly hard, but while playing through it on Hardcore, there have been bits I've thought are hard, but with playing it a bit I've done it by simply improving my tactics.
Still, each to their own, the world would be a boring place if we all liked the same things :) I personally thought that Star Wars Lego 2 sucked from the demo I played, though I'm sure it's not representative of the full game :)

There's always one smart arse :p
True though. :embarassed:
Haven't played it single-player yet, but co-op is amazing :D Mainly because it means there's someone around to revive me...which happens a lot as I'm obsessed with trying to kill everything with the chainsaw!
Helps that it's on a 50" tv as well so you can actually see what's going on for both players!

Aye, chainsaw kills rock hard, leaving bloody little bits around. I had a brief go in co-op when Jen came to visit for the day, having someone around to revive you is a huge bonus :)
Co-Op's fun :D
Definitely hoping to be playing a lot of that over Christmas. :)

I've not played Gears Of War but one of the cool things I've noticed when my mates are playing it is that you can join in to co-op mode at any point in the single player game. One of my mates was having major problems with his AI team-mate (first time you meet a Berserker I think) who kept getting himself killed so another mate just jumped in and they completed it first go, the only downside is that you have to quit to the menu if one person wants to leave. Aside from that it looks rather pretty but I've never been able to get on with a FPS/third person shooter on a console so I'm unlikely to ever play it much, I may just be malcoordinated though. :)
