Quick plug for an album which I've recently rediscovered
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/93/Get-Ready-cover.png
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Get_Ready_(New_Order_album)
Get Ready is New Order's penultimate album and also in my eyes along with Republic the most accessable, moving away from the shoe stareing bbut retaining an undeniable New Orderiness. The single Crystal is a great introduction to the album and it rocks along nicely with a few cameos from other musicians (Billy Corgan and Bobby Gillespie).
If you like New Order but you are looking for something to sing along to rather than slit your wrists to then this maybe for you :)

Is that a realtime audio feed of background noise or a loop? Why didn't they close the squelch?
It's realtime. It's a rebroadcast of the Apollo 11 mission radio transmissions - right down to some of it being delayed and the twitter messages happening when the original messages were transmitted and hearing the broadcast a few minutes later. There is some background audio that is frankly crap - but thats been turn off on mine.
Looking forward to hearing the landing and moonwalk though.
I see the option to reduce the volume for the 'background audio', what is that?

LEM seperation in 30 minutes *currently behind the moon so all there is to hear is radio crackle at the moment*
Man walks on the moon in 3 hours. :D
Considering I wasn't born for another 9 years - I'm finding this really insteresting - the amount of time they didn't have any contact with them is remarkable.

just bought "Horehound" by "The Dead Weather".
Sweet and dirty rockin' blues. Nice.
Timbaland's Shock Value has been playing in my car constantly and keeping me company on my long drives. Loving it!
Been listening to a local lass recently, Anuhea. A few weeks her album "Anuhea" was ranked at #8 on the iTunes pop chart :)
Good stuff, mix of R&B and local sounds, talented and lovely lady, had the chance to see her play at the Twestival we organised back in February so have been looking forward to this album.
Worth a listen.

The Super Super Blues Band. :D
Awesome album with the blues icons Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf. Played from mint vinyl from the original pressing.
I really need to get a life....

Just been pointed towards http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wsct546pCBE and I must say I'm bloody impressed. Always liked Stone Roses stuff when I've heard it but never really paid them too much attention so think I'm going to find a Best Of album to have a listen to.
Also quite excited that Ian Brown has a new album out this Friday (My Way) which is going to get a listen.
Just ripped a CD with this on it. Actually rather like that particular CD (Ministry Of Sound - The Chillout Session), so glad to have it back in the collection.

One slight difference though - I have this (http://www.last.fm/music/Underworld/_/Cups+%28Salt+City+Orchestra%27s+Vertical+Bacon+Voc al%29) mix. Naturally, I immediately thought of Aitch. ;D
I'm a little bit in love at the moment with the wonderfully hypnotising song of Kate Walsh. She just makes me melt inside :)
I've taken to listening to We7... you get used to the annoying adverts inbetween but it means I can listen to all my favourite artists and my play list is forever growing :) Paolo Nutini has just filled up a nice lump of it recently along with Kings of Leon (my god some of their older stuff is just phenomenal) :)
Music makes my life sparkle. I love it :)
Tiesto podcast sessions. Absolutely wicked.

Planet Rock mostly.
Proximity of PC to my dad excludes the chance of listening to much when using the PC :(
Atm pixies where is my mind, a fairly good chill out tune to be fair
This is Hallowe'en - Marilyn Manson cover of the classic theme tune to The Nightmare before Christmas :D
Bit of a resurrection for this thread as I picked up some quality tunes based on people's recommendations.
I'm just listening to Feeder - Silent Cry album. I think this one is a grower as it is Feeder going back to their roots rather than a more Rock-pop sound of late. The only problem is that while the album is certainly worth listening to.... it doesn't have a track that really grips you.
As I've said I think the album is a grower as I have been a fan of Feeder for a long time.

Faithless - The Dance
Wasn't amazingly struck on this the first few times through, but all of a sudden I love it. There's now just one track on the album I'm not keen on, but can't get enough of the rest, have it on repeat on the hour or so to and from work :)
Saw them live in Brixton on Friday - amazing!
I somehow completely missed Feeder - Silent Cry... loved Feeder when I was younger, From Echo Park to Comfort in Sound and Pushing the Senses. Saw them live a couple of times too. I hear they have some new material soon?

I have developed a rather unhealthy addiction to the new Slash Album. I've been Gotten like I've never been Gotten before.
I also found my The Best Rave Anthems in the world Ever CD this morning and had N-Trance - Set You Free on repeat all morning
Yeah I only recently found Silent Cry when looking around online at Feeder stuff. I think the reason for not much publicity is there isn't a gripping stand out track. There is the "Renegades" at the moment done as a Feeder spin off which is meant to be good. I'll be checking them out.
The new song is Feeder - fallen. It is a b-side though. I think there is a new album in the works hence them starting to be mentioned again.

I've heard the new Faithless track actually, may look into the album.

The Streets - Computers and Blues
Been looking forward to this for quite a while and grabbed it earlier on the download ahead of the CD arriving (hopefully) tomorrow...
I'll start off by saying that if you don't like The Streets there's nothing that's going to change your mind here.
Still, with me........ OK.
Been a huge fan since 2002 when I rushed out to buy Original Pirate Material after hearing Has It Come to This on Radio 1 one evening and I've bought all the other albums on launch days. The only album that I've been slightly disappointed in was Everything is Borrowed so I was rather nervous about Computers and Blues.
Like Everything is Borrowed, on first listen Computers and Blues doesn't have any standout tracks but unlike Everything is Borrowed it flows so wonderfully well that this really doesn't matter, it doesn't feel like a selection of singles chucked together but rather a proper album. Having said that there are already three tracks that I'm going straight back to listen to again as I think I could end up listening to them over and over again, 3 - Roof Of Your Car, 5 - Without Thinking, 8 - Soldiers.
As you may have guessed by now I'm no music journalist but if like me you like The Streets it's £9 well spent.
EDIT: Just found it for £3.99 on Amazon mp3 download.

Something shouted out!

Damn this girl can still sing! The sound has matured and I have to say I think I have found a new favourite track. Really gutted that I missed the reforming of the band.
Another new one

Sleigh Bells- Treats.
I'm subjecting all my students to it too!
Charlemagne: By the Sword and the Cross, a symphonic metal concept album.
It tells the story of the First Holy Emperor of Rome, King Charlemagne.
The album features a 100 piece orchestra and a number of guest vocalists playing the different roles in the story.
I ordered it on Monday afternoon from an Amazon Marketplace seller and it arrived on Tuesday morning, awesome service.
10/10. Sir Christopher Frank Carandini Lee, CBE, CStJ, rocks. Hard.
I've found my old circa 2003 20g iPod. Ahhh the memories!!
so far this week I've rediscovered:
Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms
Aha - Most of the back catalogue
Madge - pre-Confessions
Genesis - Invisible Touch (one of my fave albums of ALL TIME)
Eagles - various
Nellie McKay.
Within Temptation - The Unforgiving Their new album and a concept one based upon a comic they have also released on their webpage. After 2 tracks it is being stuck on repeat already.

I'm sitting at my kitchen table, blasting out You Can Call Me Al from my netbook hooked up to my guitar amp.
From working in McDonalds for three years and my love of all 80s music post-1984 I know all the lyrics.
I love it!
Did I mention I'm a little tipsy???!!!
Just had this come on:-
