View Full Version : Muse at Wembley Stadium
Muse first group to officially announce gig at Wembley Stadium:
http://www.wembleystadium.com/pressbox/pressReleases/MUSE%20to%20rock%20Wembley%20Stadium
16th June 2007 - so who wants to go?! :D
I must admit that it was rather unexpected when I found out, but I think it will be a good thing for them.
Anyone who is up for it is welcome to stay at my flat if needs be!
Tickets go on sale on this saturday 9th December.
Let me know if you are interested!
BB x
Saw it yesterday and made a reminder in the PDA :D
Just trying to make sure it doesn't clash with anything else at that time of year, but I may well be interested. Two birds in one gig - seeing the new stadium and seeing Muse again :)
Will the stadium be finished in time? ;)
I'd be interested. :)
Although my record of actually being able to get hold of tickets for anything always seems to end disastrously :embarassed:
If it's not ready for the cup final then some **** is getting shot, so it's a fair bet ;D

^^ I'll take that contract.
Headshots all round from me i am sick of an England without a Wembley.
This Proper bothers me i can tell ya.
Bring back surging between the twin towers NOW.
I like a bit of Muse btw :)
Thinking about it, going to Wembley for my first gig wouldn't be bad going ;D
MEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE E!
Thats a yes please :D

First link I've found. I was trying to stay away from stadium gigs for a while but I really am tempted by this.

How many tickets will we be able to get at once is the question because we might not be able to be together if we buy them separately?
MB
Well when I booked Muse at the arena it was 4 per card and I used my CC and DC.
I don't mind booking but if there is anyone else who could do it instead then I would be most grateful:
(Work Christmas Party to run/organise on friday, going back to Brighton on Saturday to move into flat etc etc)
If there isn't and we can get deffo names by cop fri I don't mind :)

I'll check with Daz but I don't mind getting 2. :)
Somewhere to kip would be excellent ty :D
My dearest mother might want to come to this, which is great, because my mum is probably the most awesome woman you'll ever meet :D
I'll know by Thursday what I/we're doing, ready for booking Saturday morning if needs be. They'll go dead quick though, do we know how much they're gonna rip us off by yet?
3 then :D
Which one of us is doing the virtual fighting on Saturday morning? :p
I'll talk to you when I know for sure what I'm doing :)

That's a point, will it be seated or standing, or a choice of both? Last Stadium gig I went to saved the stands for VIP/corporate hospitality, and the rest were down in standing.
I'd definately be interested but I'm going to be slap bang in the middle of a big Exchange project so I'll be living out of a suitcase in some god forsaken hotel at the time :/
Are people going to want to buy seated tickets over standing if there's an option to?
I'll go with the majority, as I don't know :p
We stood for most if not all of the last gig...
I don't really mind... there will be screens up anyway but its handy having a seat.
Don't mind! I would say in general it is better to get a seat.
BB x
Don't mind! I would say in general it is better to get a seat.
Tough one. I certainly don't have as much fun in a seat as I do in the thick of it.
I'm going to try and book a ticket anyway and hope that I can get a cheap flight back to London from wherever I happen to be then.
Seats get my vote. True you're not as much in the thick of it as if you're standing but the difference isn't as big as you may think. I've not had the best of luck standing at stadium gigs - I saw U2 last year and ended up fainting and somehow broke a couple of fingers in the process.
From the Muse site:
General sale for Wembley tickets is on Saturday 9th December. Tickets are priced at 37.50 + booking
Well, it aint great, but I was expecting it to break £50 with booking fee so it's not too bad.
Still not sure if that's for seated, or if there's a premium for it. Or if it's even available at all.
[edit]One of the dodgy ticket sites is showing this:
http://www.theonlineticketshop.com/shop/list_event.asp?event_id=38949
Suggesting there'll be a premium for seated.
You're not kidding about it being dodgy.
I've never been to this sort of thing. I've been to big stadia for events, sure, but not gigs and certainly not Wembley (old one included). For that reason alone I'm tempted. It would appear that I'm lacking anything by Muse, so I have no idea what they sound like. It would seem to be a good idea to find out. :)

Look in the media section. Supermassive Black hole is one of my favourite songs.
Get hold of Absolution and Origin of Symmetry. Their latest album (Black Holes and Revelations) is good, but not their best work imo.

So have we come to a conclusion then? Seating/ Standing?
MB
The consensus seems to be seated, which is fine with me so long as there isnt a massive premium for it. I'm sure I'll be able to find somewhere to enjoy myself as well as the music, I can't help but sing/dance/bounce like an idiot. The odds of me remaining still with someone line Muse playing are slim to nil :D
Thanks for the link. Going to run through Absolution first. Very early impressions http://www.boat-drinks.co.uk/images/icons/icon14.gif

We had seating at Wembley, we spent the entire set in the aisle bopping :)

Just a thought... I thought that I could get my brother a ticket for Christmas pressy... was going to ask if everyone minded him coming along - H and Pebs kinda briefly met him at the last Muse gig... he also posts as Gaijin on the other place...
Was going to be cheeky and ask Daz or Jen if they minded putting his ticket on their CC (can pay you back at Swansea), but then I had a thought.
If we are going for seats and we want all wanted to sit together we would have to book at the same time with two credit cards?
If this is what people want then I don't mind using my two cards or giving someone my details to use.
Otherwise we just go for four and four?
Thoughts?
BB x
If we're all going together it makes sense to stay together if at all possible. Ultimately depends on how many tickets they'll let us have in one order :/
*gets increasingly confuzzled*
Just tell me what I need to do and I'll do it ;D
You guys have a convert. :)
If, by chance, the option exists to get hold of five tickets, and the cost (inc. seating) is less than £60, would one of you mind?
If not (to any of the above), then don't worry about it. :)

If you want us to get 4 of these tomorrow I will gladly do so, need to know if they will be seated or standing.
MB
I have a pre-sale link at the moment but its not working :\
I don't mind getting the 8 tickets if I can get on there today.
I don't have anymore credit cards though!
If we all wanna be together (aahhh) then probably a better idea to get standing dont you think? That way we can all get our own and just meet up?
BB x
I'm on!!!!
I will get 8 if I can unless someone sends me their CC details now!!!
BB x
OK I have got 8 tickets!

Mark, with the best will in the world I really cant imagine you'd like this. It's going to be VERY loud, a lot of getting pushed about and a lot of standing. Surely they are all things you dont like? If I'm wrong, I apologise totally, but why spend what will end up being the best part of £80 to do something you'll hate?

Both sets are in Block 122 and are unreserved apparently but hey I don't care
WE ARE GOING!!! YAY!!!
Its going to be a great show!
(Sorry to anyone who isn't happy about the purchase but I just had to get them... :embarassed: let me know if you aren't happy as I am sure there will be takers)
BB x
Nice find with the presales tickets Mei, and not bad seats either. I was gonna say that I'm defo in for this, so thanks for the ticket :)
Could I trouble you for that link? The guy I work with probably wants tickets so if he can get them today he'll be happy.
No worries it is:

Na, the logistics of it put her off a bit I think. I'll be going down and staying with you (I hope :lubu: ), she'll want to come back, 2 cars, meeting up in Wembley.. bleh.
Anyway, thanks Mei, I'll get you the money next weekend if you dont need it sooner :)
I'd quite like somewhere to stay too :embarassed:
And money will be there next weekend :) Might be an idea to remind me because I have lots of people to pay ;D

Oh ok :) no worries next weekend is perrrfick!
Course you can both stay!
I have two double beds  one of which is mine ;) and I am still in two minds about having mum and dad's sofa bed :/ going to decide next week on that one.
Might be able to squeeze in a double air mattress into the lounge too :)
BB x
Edit: OK before I get sacked for surfing... I prob wont be on now as am going to be running around for the Christmas Party... will try to log on at lunch.
*boogies*

You forget (or maybe not know), I've been in an arena (almost front row too) with 68,000 screaming wrestling fans, fireworks going off, and you name it. If that's not loud, I don't know what is. :)
My problem isn't with loudness (I thought it was, but I now know better). It's with loudness + stuffy/warm club atmosphere + standing up lots. If I can sit down or get fresh air, I'm fine. A few years ago I nearly fainted at a quiet event because I got too hot.
Anyway, seems the option isn't available as BBx only got 8 tickets. As I already stated, I was prepared for that outcome, though I'm still :(

She bought them with her own two cards and 8 is the maximum she could get :(
Yup, like I said, I suspected that would happen and accepted it. Still :(, but wanted to make it clear I didn't blame anyone.

Yeah sorry Mark I tried but it wouldn't let me :( my brother was also on about getting one for his mate if I could...
I have to go organise the partay now... **STRESS!!!** hopefully be on BD over the weekend in Brighton though! at least I don't have to get up at 9am tomorrow morning!
BB x
This has crept up fast
Is it still ok to stay with you Mei?
Yeah no probs at all :) although I have a bday do on the friday night and I think my parents are staying... but sat night is free!
We should all fit in somehow! It has crept up quick and I am soooo excited now I know that My chemical Romance, the Streets and We are Scientists are supporting! :D
Its going to be great!!!
BB x
Cool :) I'll sort out some train tickets in a bit.
2 more questions :embarassed:
Er where do you live? :D And erm what time should I get there and erm where? ;D
My London geography's crap :embarassed:
Edit: Sorry for so many questions, my brain's a bit crap atm.

Bollocks, how the hell did i miss muse going on sale? Where was I!!!?? Arg its shocking the prices on ebay already...
Well if anyone drops out i'll probably try and make some last minute arrangements and take their place.... If thats ok with anyone else. Gutted i won't be seeing muse. one of the greatest live acts almost ever :(
As it happens I've pulled out Alex, not sure if Mei has sorted someone else already though, might be worth a text :)
As it happens I've pulled out Alex
You suck :p

MB
I know, sorry guys :( I'm so gutted you wouldn't believe.
With the house sacrifices had to be made to make sure we could get to Essex and the Cottage meet - this got caught in the cross fire :(
OK so a plan.
Regarding Daz's ticket, have been in touch with a couple of people and waiting to hear back... so Alex will let you know in the next couple of days dude :) didn't realise that you liked them and obviously would love to accomodate a die hard Muse fan! :D
Friday night I have a birthday party in town... so sorry to anyone wanting to make a weekend of it :( but I am assuming that peeps are just coming down on the sat anyway :) - don't blame you.
I will be around all day on sat so arrive when you like :) Jen - if you need meeting from the station, lemme know.
My bro and friend will be driving up.. Karyn knows the drill...Jen spoken to you. MB and H know how to get here too.
Minnie - MB you can park here as I have a spare permit, but we are going to need to get the tube from North Greenwich anyway - so not sure if you just wanna meet here and then we will get the bus there and meet you there.
Parking at N Greenwich was £6 last time I looked...otherwise it is free to park at mine ;) but obviously will need to pay for bus anyway...whatever is easiest for you.
Atm it is only Jen who has confirmed kipping over, as said everyone is welcome.
Any questions hook me up on msn or here :)
BB x
Parking - MB and H
I will need picking up :embarassed: London always intimidates me as I don't really like it these days so I'd only get very very lost ;D
Should be able to get to N Greenwich like we discussed last night though :)
More info:
For those who don't know already the support (as quoted in The London Paper) are:
My Chemical Romance
The Streets
We Are Scientists
CSS
Billy Clyro
And according to the tickets the doors open at 245pm... but fingers crossed in my experience they will work up the list of support acts (the not so well known first) and I don't anticipate Muse being on stage much before 9pm tbh.
Ooo so excited :) its going to be great!
BB x
\o/ \o/
Excited :D Very excited :D
We Are Scientist's album is excellent, and I'm so gutted I'm missing them because they do so few gigs over here and I've been meaning to see them.
The Streets are also surprisingly good, Mike Skinner can work a croud like few others I've seen. A really fun act, and I'm not really into their music.
I'm pleased about We Are Scientists, don't know much about them but the few tracks I've heard were great.
I'm actually quite pleased with My Chemical Romance too, bit emo but I quite like them. :D
Never been keen on The Streets' music but hoping it's a decent live act.
Then again, screw it, it'll all be great to me ;D
Yeah I was really suprised when I saw The Streets at V Festival.
They were really good :)
I need to get the MCR album to appreciate them too methinks!
BB x
OK line up times for Saturday it is THIS Saturday!!! :D
Soooo excited!
14.45 = Gates open
16.30 - 17.15 = Rodrigo y Gabriela
17.45 - 18.30 = Dirty Pretty Things
19.00 - 20.00 = The Streets
20.30 - 22.30 = Muse
:D
So what time do peeps wanna get there for...it will take about an hour on the tube to get there from mine :)
OK I was wrong about Muse not being on before 9pm :/ and also MCR playing - they are playing on the sunday.... booo! Nevermind though! :D yay!
Also I need to know who is kipping over - Alex and Jen are the most obvious, but the rest of you I dunno - including my brother :p so if you can let me know asap that would be great (remembers MB and H are still on hols ;))
BB x
Dirty Pretty Things? :D:D:D
I'm in Paddington at 12.30, and then on my way to Waterloo and Waterloo East and then the other thing you told me that I've got written down so I don't get lost on my way to North Greenwich :p
I'll be heading home I expect and I think I'd like to get there for about 6ish? I wouldnt mind catching some DPT and TS :) That said, I'm happy to go with the majority :)

I'm back home properly now, few days to go, and i'm excited!
Now i need to work out where the hell i'm driving too, if anyone need a lift vaguely on the way by all means i'm yours (the car not me ;)). I'm going to read the thread properly now, i'm lazy yes, and work out what the plan of action is :).
BB's covered, you need to send me the cash :) PM you some bank details?

Might have to get this. Been introduced to the Muse by the DRZ. :D (Thanks man!)
Is it a DVD of the concert with a bonus CD or a CD album with the DVD of the concert?
The DVD is of the Wembley gig of the 17th (the day after the one us lot went to) and the CD is of the Wembley gig of the 16th :)
