Hmmm.

I have capital bonds to spend and was going to spend them in HMV in Glasgow this weekend (visiting my niece). I was going to buy a hard drive and gold live account for the 360 but if they have any Wiis left, I may be tempted - I quite fancy one.

Stan :)

haha!
in truth neither are for me :(
i was merely a pawn so the bf could get his hands on a 2nd machine - i just got to go along for the wait! (only one allowed per person y'see)
all that means is that i can play his, but just not have the cost involved with owning my own :D
(oh and i think his idea is that number 2 will help pay for number 1...)

Doesn't look like Paul's is being delivered until after the weekend.

Ever seen a grown man sulk?

Mine is being delivered today but I won't be in, so I guess they'll take it away again. :(

Edit: Aw, look at his excited chubby face! http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1726714

I especially like the original Super Mario Bros. end of level music as he holds it aloft. :D

Bah, kinda wish I was getting one now, I love the rush of getting a new console. I'll wait until nearer Easter though when there will be more games out and I may be able to afford one by then.

Haly

Nice one :)
I've somehow never pre-ordered a console or got one on launch day, feels like something I should do one day :D Then again I really couldn't afford it this year after buying the 360.

08-12-2006, 11:25
right, now you all have got them and had a play...I have a question.
does it play like on the TV adverts? I know next to nothing about this console :(
I mean, is the square handheld controller thing that good? What about accuracy?

I think I want one, if it IS that good. guess it can wait till after christmas

I would just like to announce that I'm a complete and total idiot.

I went into town at 11:45 to go pickup my pre-order.

Roll forward to 9:20 this morning...

Knock at the door. Parcelfarce.... BIG box adressed to me. Open it up... Another Wii.

Oops. it appears that I ordered one online as well.

Can I take one off your hands by any chance ?

Ah the old 'I forgot I ordered this one, might as well put it on eBay' ruse. ;)

I did that with the Xbox360. Bought 3 premiums and a Core with a couple of games each. Kept 1 premium for myself.

Made a reasonably large amount of money on that.

Just seen a Wii go on the bay for £490! £490 ffs! For a £170 console and 5 games. The Consoles on their own are going for over £300!

Can I take one off your hands by any chance ?

If I had read that earlier I would have said yes straight away - Offered it to the boss at work for his hyperactive kids. Should hear back if he wants it this afternoon. He's got to have a chat with his wife to see if he's allowed it. *for his kids of course ;)*

Well, I notice Amazon is going to sell a limited amount at 3pm today, so I am going to try and score one if possible.

Fingers on the buzzers !

But let me know about your boss, the chances of getting one off Amazon is very slim !

Haly

Haha, you mean our console pile? That's only the ones we can fit beside the tv :embarassed:. We've still got my xbox in front of the wii, the ps1 is in a bag somewhere, ps2 in the bedroom and the rest are in a cupboard. Only a couple are mine, Stew is a bit of a console nut!

Sounds about the same amount of stuff as me :D Although no wii or sky box (Ntl box instead).

Mondo
08-12-2006, 15:41

Its ok, thanks. If it get it, i'll be happy, it not. It's not that big a deal really. :)

Jasper

figuring out how much to list it for?? ;)

it's already listed. i believe in the true spirit of ebay, i start everything at 99p and see what happens.

**** ME!

Or

£760 *+£20p&p* for a Wii with Zelda, Red Steel, Monkeyball and Wii Play with the extra Wiimote

The Component cables are selling for £40!

Cheapest genuine Wii sale on Ebay that I've seen has been for £250....

Clever postie. I left a note on the door to tell DHL to take a delivery to a neighbour two doors down (even though I told them to by email it doesn't hurt to be sure) and whoever delivered the Wii left me a note telling me they'd try there as well.

Parcel Force in 'doing right thing' shocker!

Belmit

Haha! This thing is ace. I've been in hysterics just playing the single-player games. Golf is awesome, I hope they bring out a fully-blown golf game for it (I'm sure they will). Getting a few mates together and having a few drinks while playing this would be a great night in.

Since I don't have the component cable yet I didn't think it was worth hooking up to the HDTV and so the graphics aren't a patch on the 360. I doubt they will be even when I get one. That said, the Wii really isn't about the graphics, it's the interactive control system that shines with this.

Amazon is where Paul ordered his from. They promised to deliver yesterday. He's one of the many who haven't even been informed when theirs is to be delivered yet so he was well pissed off when he got the email off them advertising the fact they were selling more yesterday and wrote a rather to the point letter.

To make it worse he can't even cancel the order as it's in limbo on the site so is stuck until they get their arses into gear.

Bad Amazon! Bad!

Just picked ours up today, had great fun this afternoon. Caitlin was in hysterics doing the boxing :D, KO'd 1 person in about 15 seconds. Pity we only have 1 Nunchuk at the mo or i'd have wiped that smile off her face ;). Have the sports pack, the play pack and will be trying out Zelda later on. I'm on a mission for a scart cable and second Nunchuk tomorrow, not feeling particularly hopeful though as there seems to be a major shortage of everything.

EDIT

I can't figure out how to link my nintendo-europe account to my wii, im sure you can as it says you can add friends by email addy or by system number (i can't even fnd that lol).

Either their sensor is under-sensitive or mine's too sensitive. I consistently get +100mph baseball pitches from a rather tame throw. I can't conceive of flailing so hard I'd break anything other than the Wiimote itself.

I don't understand how the speed of pitch works, it doesnt seem to relate to how fast you move your arm as the mother in law was getting around 150 sometimes by barely moving it and i was always around 100 when putting a bit of effort in.

Can't wait for a full tennis / baseball / golf game to come out.

Belmit

I love the Wii. Had my TV still be working I would have bought one. Instead I have to drive to Reading to use one.

My only problem (and this is nothing to do with being a man) is that, on the bowling, people who were doing 'full actions' were being beaten by people who didn't (i.e. women). A quick flick of the arm seemed to work better.

How's the golf?
