Not posted this on here so thought i may as well :). It's a Mazda 3 2.0 Sport, I bought it just over a couple of months ago and am very happy with it. Drives very nicely, not the quickest but a vast improvement on my old one. The build quality is spot on too, my only gripes (and they are pretty small) are the lack of rear windscreen wiper and the way there is nothing near the boot release button you can use to open the boot (you have to move your hand down to the lip at the bottom). Especially loving the Bose :D.

Anyway, back to the point, windscreen wash. I've tried various pre-mixed efforts from garages but nothing works as effectively as the stuff that was in there when i bought it. The biggest issue i have though is that everything smears no matter what type of mix i buy. Anyone have any recommendations?

Yes

Go to Halfrauds and get the Rain-X pack with the degreaser and the Rain-X.

Apply

Never use wipers again!

Found this:

No degreaser that i can see. Surely you'd still need to use wipers though?

Thats the stuff :)

Yes I was sort of joking about the wipers, but only sort of.

Rain-X makes the screen so slidey that once you get over 30 rain literally run up and off the screen with the air moving over the windscreen, its almost like magic :)

You don't need the degreaser, it just makes a nice clean base to start with. Make sure you apply with paper towels exactly as per instructions and leave to dry then buff off, but don't use a microfibre, use another paper towel.

Only when you are going slowly. Once you are on the motorway turn off your wipers and its ace. I actually think its a hell of a lot safer as your vision is sooooo much better with rain-x then when you used your wipers in the past

You've won me over :). Will order some up and give it a go :). How often does it need to be re-applied. I guess there wont be any smears at low speed either then?

Personally I bought 2 packs of windscreen washer from halfrauds and it's great. For the metro in us all it's pink :p but cleans the screen nicely.

I went to the one in Llanelli.

And bloody rubbish it was too.

Or maybe I'm just sulking.

If he doesn't, I suspect I probably still do, as I took it. :)

I remember all the stickers gradually detaching themselves on the way down the M4. :)
