No idea how long this has been out but I thought I would make a post here about it anyway.

Visibly, it is no different to 1.5 but it has some reasonably cool features straight out of the box!

You can now recover lost tabs (last one you closed or the whole lot of your browser crashes) which is something you could do from an extension but now it is supported from the off. It works well, too!

It has a built in spelling checker. Not something that I personally felt I would use a great deal but what it does do is highlight typos - something which is HUGELY useful for posters like me who tend to type faster than their fingers can follow :p

It hasn't crashed on me yet and I have been using it all evening but it is using a whopping 120Mb of RAM  I would guess that would be sorted by the time it comes out of beta (1.5 was hungry but not THAT hungry!!)

In all, it gets a two thumbs fresh from me and is well worth checking out if you can spare the RAM!

It was released on Wednesday IIRC. I've only had a quick play and one of the first things I noticed was that it eats RAM like it is going out of fashion, but then so does 1.5.0.4 for me.

Aye, 1.5.0.4 suck 200MB of my 1.5GB...

Full system rebuild and cleanse next week (when I am not at work, yay), so I'll give 2.0 beta a try and see how it compares :)

1.5.0.4 uses anywhere between 30 and 70 Mb with me. I'll give 2.0 a whirl later and see how that fares.

It wouldn't be a problem on my PCs which all have plenty of RAM but this laptop only has 512Mb - if it uses 200 then I could have problems browsing and running F@H at the same time :(

I'm now using Flock as my main browser, mainly because I can plug my blog and photo accounts into it and not have to keep logging in etc. :)

I signed up for info a while back and got an email saying the beta is now available. It's based on Mozilla which is cool, you can get it here (http://www.flock.com)

I run FF 1.5.0.4 with probably 20-25 tabs, all opened automatically by an extension and it uses around 110Mb I guess. I'd rather wait until V2 has reached the final public beta ie released as final!

eeew, why can't they get the RAM usage down :(

If Firefox had the speed of Opera then it'd be the *perfect* browser.

Which extension is that Feek?

I have all my favorite bookmarks on the bookmarks toolbar. I open the browser and then right click on the toolbar and click open in tabs but it would be even cooler to have it do it automagically

Tab Mix Plus.
Just go to the FF add-on section and look through the 'most downloaded' section. It's very good.

Cheers bud.

Will do it in the morning as it's 22:40 here and I have to be up at 04:45 in the morning :(

I was just about to look for that extension when I discovered the most amazing thing.

I had all my toolbar bookmarks open in tabs and was looking through the options and noticed that the "use current page" option actually said "use current pages".
I clicked on it, closed FF and re-opened it and hey presto, it opened with all tabs
